Video: Transit Police Out of Control -- DHS Scrutiny Warranted
The video here shows there is a problem within the DHS oversight of transit officers. These officers and others appear to have been poorly trained, and have used excessive force. The victim later died.
Coverage: KTVU
Discuss here the increased oversight you would like to see to regulate civilian contractors and others working as transit police. Share your views on which increased oversight is needed by Congress over Department of Homeland Security; and share your views on the independent audits which should be done to screen contractors.

I forgot. You are making a point that is really of import to me. But I hit your cite site and my pc crashed. Now I have dell that is going on seven now. But it did not work for me.
Outsourcing our police powers pisses me off.
This is wrong. It is a republican thing to make sure that more and more people do not make a decent wage while the pigs that own the companies pay underqualified and unchallenged and unregulated. And underpaid.
I am sick and tired of this whether we are discussing Blackwater or the force you have pointed out.
THIS IS WRONG.
Do we wish to go back to the days when the Cities of NY and Chicago hired street gangs to police their streets?
This is a good post.

I totally agree.
Service and profit are two mutually exclusive terms. We need to retain services in the public realm where they are transparent. There is no benefit for the people when services are privitized as transparency moves behind a door marked "Private - Keep Out". WRONG. This is public and should remain so.

Yeah Gregor and this goes to the shame of privatized prisons. The entire concept sickens me.
Should we outsource all the aides and guards and messengers in the Senate? Save monies on health insurance?
