Questions Un-asked Go Unanswered
Today information is used as a diversionary tactic. Turn around and look back behind the stories to see what is not being asked, for example:
- Why are Ted Steven's and now the Israeli spies not being prosecuted?
- Why are Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, & Rove not being indicted?
- Why did we provide $900M in aid to Palestine recently when the Israel's retaliated for the rocket attacks?
- Why do we send billions of dollars every year to Israel, Puerto Rico, etc, etc?
- Why are we defending any country except our own?
- More importantly, why are we paying to defend any other country but our own?
- Why are we still providing bail out money to banks who are not lending it to consumers?
- Why don't we extend every single-family, home mortgage to forty or fifty years until the economy improves?
- Why are we allowing UBS to refuse the names of tax-evaders they did and continue to aid and abet?
- Why can't we own windmills and solar generation plants on our own property in most States?
- Why is the TARP money going back into the TARP fund instead of being returned to the taxpayers?
- Why haven't we replaced every manager in every bank or institution that has taken bail-out funds?
- Why can't we let AIG fail?
- Why do we need Fannie, Freddie, or the Federal Reserve?
- Where is the promised Transparency?
- Why are Madoff and Stanford walking around?
- Why aren't ALL of their assets frozen?

Bernard Madoff was remanded into custody immediately following his guilty plea. So he isn't "walking around."
Stanford Allen hasn't been tried yet. I believe he has been charged, but not yet indicted.
As for your other questions, they seem to suffer from the same problems as your question on Madoff.
The devil is always in the factual details.

Puerto Rico is sovereign American territory, although I am unsure if the Federal Government actually sends "billions of dollars" to it every year.
