Wow, I went back to comment on an answer to my comment and couldn't figure out where the Comment Box was. It seemed like a lively discussion. Why was it disabled?
Anyway. . .I was just going to say that the defense of the CC head, who the OP says is definitely not a racist, is hardly warranted when he made the final decision to ban the kids after listening to the members and then deferring to them, wrong-headed as they were.
If he were as brave as MLK, he would have stuck with his original decision and would not have been cowed by the "few" members who protested.
That's all.

Thanks for giving us this option, Tank. Putting up posts while taking away the ability to comment, although allowable, just makes me crazy.
I read the post and didn't find anything worth commenting on, but the fact that now I can't if I want to just gets me. My personal policy is to not read ANY post that has comments disabled.
I may be in the running for the post with the most comments on it (at least in recent memory - 430 was the final total I think) and many of those comments weren't worth reading, but the idea of disabling them never crossed my mind.
If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Once you put up a post, you get to live with the repercussions...

Ha, you made a classic TPM mistake. If you turn the comments off, you create a meta scenario. We love meta around here. Commenting on how or why TPMCafe works the way it does is like catnip. Also, apparently posts about the origins of housecats do well too.

Not that you have the ability to learn, but it'll give me an opportunity to demonstrate how humans have intellect superior to, say, the algal slime that is also superior to you.

You should try have a fair and balanced discussion with Mr. Thomas rather than just insult him. Others have done so and it has provoked an interesting analysis of the issues.
