Thurs/Fri 2nd Chance Clearinghouse For Posts That Deserve Another Look - Updated Daily

This daily post is a clearinghouse for links to posts that either flew by too fast, didn't get the attention they deserved, or are so good they need to be up even longer...

ANYONE can link a post here. If you do, please describe it briefly and tell us why it deserves another look.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take the time to rec this post, even if you don't read any of the links or add anything. It only works if it makes it to READER REC everyday. If it barely makes it, it gets bounced off and doesn't work for us.

Since you had so many recs. This wasn't a hugely important blog...just my response to all of the reports on nasty robocalls and mailers today...
This is short so I just copied here... not sure how to link this now...

Got Nasty RNC/McCain Robocall/Mailer Problems? Clean them up with Phone Banking for the Obama Campaign.
October 16, 2008, 4:48PM

I could just get mad... or I could do something.

I have my Sunday free, was planning to do some deep house cleaning. All of the disgusting, outrageous mailers and robocalls reported on by tpm today got me thinking, I should spend some time on the phone talking to people about Senator Obama and do a diffferent kind of cleanup work. I am going to talk to people and see if I can get some people to join me. Maybe one of those phone banking parties... Live calls trump robocalls, right?!

Here is a glimpse of the fire McCain and especially Palin are playing with at their rallies

I saw that... watched the video... had some sort of mix problem. This must be why the secret service are trying to keep reporters away from Palin's supporters at rallies.

It begs the urgent need for a better education system in our society so that poeple learn how to think, differentiate, and reason.

I had to explain to my mother a couple of months ago that Fox 'News' is NOT 'fair and balanced' and she is not a stupid woman but she is very trusting... and where she lives they have CNN and FOX... she never saw MSNBC, she doesn't read much news online or otherwise.

Just an example that some people are basically good and not necessarily stupid but they believe some of what they hear. Sometimes it happens because they hear something over and over again and then it gets spread around like urban legend and it seems to be the truth...

If you teach teenagers the tricks of marketing and manipulation and how it works when they are in high school, it is like showing them how the magician does his tricks... it spoils the 'magic' but they will be much harder to fool. I had to take a mass marketing class when I was in high school and they made us create marketing for kiwi, the fruit. We had to get inside the marketing industry and learn what they were all about. I feel we have to teach critical thinking in various stages throughout a child's development. A better educated electorate seems to be the best solution to this problem.

Thanks, loki! I don't want anyone to forget that Raider99 is this child's "birth" parent, but I seem to have adopted it!

I'm assuming you are rec'ing daily and I appreciate that! Please talk it up as you get the chance! We need lots of rec's, but we need content as well...
Thanks for participating!

Not the most important post here but this is about McCain's appearance on Letterman last night. The show got high ratings:

And this has video of Obama's speech at the Al Smith dinner. Very funny:

This is a nice discussion about "Spreading the Wealth"...didn't get as much attention as I thought it should:

This is a few days old, but I missed it and since it got little response, I think others did too. In light of the continuing hate speech coming from the McCain?Palin campaign, I thought it was worth revisiting"
