Your BO Update - by Murry

My sources have been sniffing trees and hydrants all over Washington to bring you this update.  I am very pleased to report to my TPM pack that the Obama family is adjusting well to First Dog, Bo.

The picture below tells the story; the leader of the free world led by the leader of his pack.

Bo says that Malia and Sasha are lovely, loving and attentive to all his needs.  He really likes Michelle Obama but privately laughs about her attempts to be strict with him but goes along to make her feel good.

He loves the President but is a little miffed about his comment, "He's not sleeping in my bed."  Bo's first response was, "He's not sleeping in my bed, either!"  Bo has calmed down since and is biding his time to jump up on the Presidential bed in the middle of the night and take his rightful place wrapped around the President's head.  Bo says that once the President learns it's for his own wellbeing he will have a change of heart.

As to the now famous, 10 o'clock incident as recounted by Michele Obama:

"It was, like, 10 o'clock. Everybody was asleep and we hear all this barking and jumping around," she said. "The president and I came out and we thought somebody was out there. And it was just Bo. He was playing with his ball. And it was like there was another person in the house."

Bo explains that he has been upset lately by Republican attacks on the President and was pretending that the ball was Newt Gingrich.

He also commented on the First Lady's comment, "he loves to chew on people's feet." "You never know when Larry Summers will fall asleep during an Oval Office meeting."

Bo was very pleased with Bob Schieffer's weekly commentary on today's, Face the Nation:

For now I will leave it to others to make a judgment on the president's first 100 days. But I know one thing: he loves that dog.

At the White House Friday afternoon, he was carrying around a copy of the current New Yorker, the one with the cover featuring a tiny Bo on a huge green White House lawn.

He was beaming. "I'm taking this to show the girls," he said. "See, it really looks like it."

As a matter of fact, it really does if you look really, really close.

And the president has already learned that when you hang out with celebrities, people don't always notice you're there.

He told this story on himself: Late one evening he was walking the dog and some White House visitors with small children saw him.

"Look," said one of the kids, "it's Bo!"
Bo, is pleased with his first cover and agrees it does look like him (what do you think?)

That's all for now, gotta walk the parents and p-mail my sources.   Have a nice day and please, hug your dog for me.

You haz some really good sources, Murray. Thank you for your very fine Bo report. It'z only fitting that the Prezidunk, fine human that he is, walks behind Bo, don'tcha think? Everybody knowz that dog is you-know-what spelled backward.

Yes, the arrival of the First Dog is real tangible evidence that we can turn this country around. It was a critical appointment and I am glad that the Dems were able to confirm it in a timely manner. Their having to use the Reconciliation tactic is not objectionable to me.
