Pay For Health Care By Leaving Iraq And Afghanistan
What is the one thing Republicans give Obama high marks for? Afghanistan. Does anyone here believe in this war? Polls show that Americans don't.
Funding health care is a legitimate problem. Afghanistan is an illegitimate war. These problems are linked.

I really want to see Bin Laden dead. But you have to ask--besides trying to find him, what are we doing over there?
Either way, in the mind of the GOP, giving the rich tax cuts with money we don't have = stimulating the economy, while giving health care to those who don't have it = socialism. Quite a backwards world they live in

Bin Laden is not in Afghanistan.
And our healthcare is buried in the sands of Iraq, and lost in the mountains of Central Asia. Absolutely no doubt about that.

Well, I have understated. Our sanity as a nation is lost there, too.

Funding healthcare is only a problem if you require for-profit insurance companies to waste four or five hundred billion dollars per year in order to do it.

Quite so!

Agreed. I can only imagine the money we would save & lives. Might as well cut off Haliburton & Blackwater while we're at it & all the military contractors/mercenaries. It would be a chain reaction that might solve more than just healthcare reform.

I wonder when was the last time the OMB evaluated the economy of hiring contractors at the rates they are making at this time?

Never. That would be taking money from the rich, you see, and that's JUST BAD!

Looks like the American people aren't the only ones who are withdrawing total support for the wars.

Medicare for all can be easily funded by defunding the wars and closing some of our 700 military overseas bases of our imperial project.
