News Flash for Obama on Healthcare
The other day I heard President Obama complain that people on the Right and Left were forgetting about what's important in the Healthcare legislation coming out of Congress.
News flash for our president. We, on the left, elected you with our energy, feet, phone calls and money. How dare you dismiss us like that ! There is a difference between the Right and Left.
Let's bypass this president. Let's support those Democrats who want to push through legislation with a public option with 51 votes. Let Baucus take his Republican friends out to an expensive meal with all that money he gets from the insurance companies.
This is a fight. You're either with us or against us. No matter who you are.

We on the left haven't elected anyone President since JFK, centrists and Hispanics carried the day for us.

Us? Who is us? If the left hasn't elected anyone since I was 9 then it's long past time we started a party to do just that. I've always been conflicted about the party. RFK was my first hero and the first convention I watched had me identifying with the kids being clubbed by the Daley machine. I was 16. I thought they'd let me inside someday.
40 years later, the left is still outside the convention looking in. In the wilderness in or out of the party. Might as well be out. It can't be any less futile.

Let's bypass the President and support Congressional Democrats?
That's not the problem.
The problem is Congressional Democrats. Obama has oft stated that he believes a public-option is necessary, while the Blue Dogs oppose that. Correct?
