"Perhaps The Most Imbecilic Article In The History of Journalism On ABC.com."
Crossposted at The Whole Delivery
ABC's Jake Tapper is one of the well known "Hacks of Hacks in Washington D.C. Today, he exhibited an even more horrendous piece of hackery if their ever was one.
Tapper couldn't be more of a sleazy writer than what he wrote today, titled (and I kid you not), "The Emergence of President Obama's Muslim Roots."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, oh my goodness gracious.
Tapper comes off already as a clown (and to be fair, he isn't alone, as Sunlen Miller helps as well) with that title, considering how this tired story line has already been eviscerated of Obama being a Muslim. But it gets even more atrocious as the article starts.
Update: I knew this guy was a jerk, but I didn't know it was to this extent:
Since the election, however, with the threat of the rumors at least somewhat abated, the White House has been increasingly forthcoming about the president's roots. Especially when reaching out to the Muslim world. In his April 6 address to the Turkish Parliament, President Obama referenced how many "Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim majority country. I know, because I am one of them."Um, Jake, it was already public knowledge that Obama lived and grew up a little in a Muslim country. We all knew that, everyone with a brain knew that. Yet, you go so happily bring this up as as this supposed dishonest and hypocritical move of Obama to embrace the Muslim world now. No wonder why Gawker.com (who seem to have thankfully gotten out of their bad spell of terrible reporting on Keith Olbermann) dubbed this, quite honesty,"Perhaps the most imbecilic article in the history of journalism on ABC.com." And additionally, no wonder why it has been the top link of the integrity challenged Fudge Report all day long:
Update: I knew this guy was a jerk, but I didn't know it was to this extent:
But there are only a handful of people who live up to the sophomoric term "tool" quite the way ABC reporter Jake Tapper does. For starters: His big break was selling out the story of a date he had with Monica Lewinsky. He dated a Miss America contestant, once called a college-age reporter a "pussy" and, at the beginning of his career, reportedly handed a Salon reporter a wad of his chewed gum, telling her it would be "worth something someday." We're not trying to be mean or anything, or saying he's a bad person. It's just true: The man is a tool.Speaks for itself, doesn't it?

sluggahjells: Can you photoshop a thick mustache on him and re-post? He kinda looks like Ron Burgandy.

I understand that he needs to curry favor with his editors and corporate owners, but why does stupid work for them?

Jake Tapper is the whole toolshed. I had to delete my bookmark of Political Punch (his blog at ABC news) because it was nothing but dumb and dumber whenever I looked at it.

Tapper's original blog post was bad enough, but it went on to mate with Ben Smith's and breed some even more grotesque offspring.
TPM's Eric Kleefeld follows the slimy trail:

Tapper isn't the only stupidity associated with ABC. I made the mistake of watching the Indy 500, where an announcer said in refence to the leader of the race "only God and he knows what he's thinking". ABC, ESPN and Fox Sports work to inject religious bias into any sports content they can. This is the same garbage that informs people like the jerkoff who killed Dr. Tapper. A little extreme, you say? What do sports have to do with religion? What are these people hoping to accomplish? Why can't I watch a program without being exposed to their nonsense? Fuck you ABC, ESPN and Fox Sports.

jimboz: I hear you man. But I gotta be honest, only God knows what I would do to land a date with Danica Patrick. :)

What is it about the insufferable little prick that just makes you think "tool" out of all the possible insults you could apply to him (like, for example, "insufferable little prick.")
But yeah, I thought we were going to have to dig deep to top the all-important Jerimiah Wright story he broke with ace reporter Sunlen, or the even more critical "I suspect Obama snuck a smoke once and that his people lied to me when I asked them what I hadn't asked him" story.
But this does it. It is, in fact, perhaps the most imbecilic article in the history of journalism on ABCNews.com.

LOL. It's true. First thing that popped into my head as soon as I saw the photo. That quoted paragraph from Daily Intel is hilarious.

If the following isn't true, Tapper needs to consult a good libel lawyer. Of all of the hateful things that could be said about a Washington "reporter', nothing could be more damning than:
""He's not one of the wussy, blow-dried TV reporters," says conservative commentator Tucker Carlson, A LONGTIME FRIEND" [emphasis added].
New York magazine, have you no decency?

When is the last time anything of note happened on ABC? I mean honestly?
NBC and CBS have been powerhouses since the days of Fred Friendly and Robert McNeil. Now the cable shows kill em all, but ABC is just never relevent to any event on earth.
Even ABC's early Palin interviews were quickly surpassed by Katie Kouric's.

Add in George Weasleopolous and whats-his-face (anchor of nightly news)and their dispicable behavior during ABC's presidential debate, and ABC News is just a laughing stock.

"what's-his-face" = Charles Gibson, he of the "college professors earn more than $200,000 a year" fame.

I think the only blog that's more insufferable than the Jakester's has to be "The Note".
However, since reading "The Note" makes me break out in hives, I haven't read it recently, so maybe the Jakester takes the prize.

He's jockeyinhg for a p[osition with FOX. Maybe he wants to be the next O-Reilly. He probably sees that Beck will burn out. Tha tBeck is burning out right before our very eyes, and we LOVE to watch reality V asnd it's hystrionics, don't we.
Okay, not the folks here at TPM, probably, but the rest of America.

Umm, I meant reality TV, and I meant to type better too, but i'm too impatient to edit.

I kinda liked wondering what "reality V" meant. . .

I agree a total 'tool' but I believe that Joe Scarbarough also ranks for this title.
