So Bush and Cheney kept us safe for 8 yrs, since 911, blah, blah, blah. Both sides argue the validity of this statement over and over for obvious political reasons.  Yet the media and to some extent the dotcom world think, for whatever reasons, what really matters is what the administration did to preserve America's safety from the terrorists after 911. I must admit it's a better read, and yes the 911 Commission brought to light some the failings of the agencies who's job it is to protect us but what the hell was Cheney doing to protect us prior to 911.  Planes-flying-into-buildings red flags were everywhere (no we don't want to learn how to take off or land this plane).  So where the hell was Cheney and what was he doing to protect the security and safety of the United States prior to 911.  Is it not even fair to ask?
