Dems = one hard dude in downtown Philly with a nightstick

Republicans = systematic nationwide multi-election-cycle strategy involving the McCain campaign, President Bush, the DOJ, the Attorney General, Republican Senators, Republican House Reps, the RNC, Fox News, Drudge, "field operatives", phone jamming, voter caging, lawsuits, crying foul about Dems registering minorities, etc.

Mmkay? Nuff said.

McCain told a modestly attended outdoor rally Monday: "With this kind of enthusiasm, this kind of intensity we will win Florida and we will win the election."

Barack Obama may lead John McCain by just 2 points in the latest CNN Florida poll of polls, but the enthusiasm gap appears a bit wider.

John McCain’s first rally of the day, in Tampa outside Raymond James Stadium, only drew about 1,100 people. Local reporters noting that at almost the same spot just before the 2004 election, President Bush drew about 15,000 people. Two weeks ago, Obama drew an estimated 8,000.

Republican Gov. Crist, who had previously agreed to do interviews with CNN and various local affiliates, bolted right after the rally with no explanation.

It's typical for a presidential candidate to stop in Missouri's third-largest city right before Election Day. But as a rule, that candidate isn't a Democrat.

Not so Saturday night, when Democrat Barack Obama filled a high school football stadium in the heart of Missouri's Republican territory in hopes of peeling off enough support to help edge out Republican John McCain and carry Missouri on Tuesday.

"You're showing me something tonight. You're showing the nation something tonight,'' Obama said, amid cheers from the crowd — estimated to be at least 30,000 — at Parkview High School's JFK Stadium.

Saturday's stop was Obama's third to the state in the last two weeks. He was accompanied by his wife, Michelle, who introduced him, and their two daughters, Sasha and Malia, who briefly joined their parents on stage.

"I don't know about you, but I think this crowd is bigger than Bass Pro Shop's parking lot,'' said U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, in a dig at Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, who drew up to 20,000 to that lot less than two weeks ago.

Another point while I'm here, I've seen multiple Rethugs spread the "virtual incumbent" line. I saw Lindsey G and then later John Fund on CNN...

It's a coordinated campaign. Clearly. It's absurd on its face, but if anyone has any deeper thoughts/strategies on that, I'd love to hear them...

Wurzelbacher was nowhere to be seen when the Arizona senator called out for him.

A campaign aide later said Wurzelbacher had "decided not to come" and may join McCain later in the day.

But reached at his home by CNN's Mary Snow, Wurzelbacher said it was "news to him" that he was supposed to be at the McCain rally. Wurzelbacher said nobody from the McCain campaign confirmed he was attending the event and called the incident a "miscommunication."

UPDATE: Contacted by CNN a second time, Wurzelbacher said the campaign only called him to confirm after the event in question already took place. He will now try to meet up with McCain later in the day.

Wurzelbacher also said he had gotten an initial call about coming to the morning rally, "but no one called back to confirm," and was "not happy" that McCain had called out his name and he wasn't there.

UNH Survey: Double Digit Leads For The Dems In NH A University of New Hampshire Survey Center poll out tonight shows Barack Obama has blown open a strong lead over John McCain, 55% to 39%. Former governor Jeanne Shaheen also has the edge in her second Senate battle against incumbent John Sununu, 49% to 38%.

When UNH surveyed the presidential climate in September, McCain was ahead, 47% to 45%.

These figures are essentially unchanged from a Boston Globe poll conducted October 18-22 by the UNH Survey Center but represent a significant change from mid-September when McCain held a 47% to 45% lead over Obama.

Obama has opened up a sizeable lead among independent voters in New Hampshire – 54% of political independents say they favor Obama, 32% favor McCain, 3% prefer some other candidate, and 11% are undecided.
