		        <![CDATA[<p>Thank you for reading and for commenting.  Vouchers are a tough one, but clearly an option that must be explored especially in situations such as DC.  It is unacceptable to lobby against programs that free economically disadvantaged from substandard schools.  I believe that compromises can and should be worked out to create the best educational opportunities possible for kids while respecting our traditional separation of church and state, public and private.  That being said, we must be prepared for the fallout of expanding voucher programs.  Public schools cannot be left with inadequate resources to teach those in public schools.  Vouchers can work well for kids who have motivated parents and who actively seek to take advantage of these programs.  Those who do not have those advantages must be provided with an adequate education in the public schools.  Therefore, vouchers cannot solve all of our public education problems on the cheap.  More funds will still be necessary to provide for public schools who may lose their most motivated students to voucher programs.</p>]]>
