Mystery
I have two posts right now (this one makes the third). The first one is a typical irritated post yelling at political operatives who do not visit these pages. It has 12 recommendations at 9 pm on Sunday. The second one, which I posted probably an hour later, provides very practical guidance for how to take specific concrete action about the same irritating matter. It has 4 recommendations at 9 pm.
To my mind, the second one is more worthwhile. The first one is feel good, but provides no help to anyone.
Why do the blowhard posts get the most recommendations?

Because they will.

"Why do the blowhard posts get the most recommendations?"
- Ehm, you really should show more respect to your readers, son.
On second thought, blowhard posts are more fun than desperate instructions to fill out stupid webforms - which only result in automated email responses (and probably auto-delete).

Lalo, you are claiming to be quite old if you call me son.
On the topic at hand, 10 webform emails to Conrad are "desperate." However, every now and then the internet tubes become magic, and the result is not 10 webform emails but 10,000. I dream of the day that I am the butterfly wings that spawn that mess one day.

and to be redundant, let me add... "one day"

I understand.
But there is a rather limited crowd of familiar faces and all they do, in between the whiny (erm, blowhard) posts and comments is fill out endless forms to various Senators.
Two weeks ago, they were faxing.
How about texting?
Given the amount of money Obama has been spending on promoting this "reform", I'm really not sure about the effectivness of the letter-writing campaign. These writers have probably been added to "junk email" lists a long time ago.
Oh, and as for the mass defections to the Green Party... come on. What Green Party? The one nobody knows about?

As I explained, the Martian party. I live in NY, I have my choice, Working Family, Liberal, Nutz-n-Crazies, what have you. In other states, the choices are not so rich.

Good question but the blowhard post is kinda screwed up. I can see the post itself, but none of the comments and there's no recommendation button visible. Go figure eh?

I assume you use Firefox, as do I. It has never moved out of the beta stage, for a reason.

Well I decided hey, what are you best suited for...I mean dick what could you grow up to be.
Since I naturally seem to expand in girth over the last three years, I thought 'whale'
And whales are blow hards.
But Marq...there have been fine posts the last few days...written by good and solid writers.
I will not accept that most of the most recommended posts are by blowhards...me excepted.
But that is my tao......

I used two examples, both written by me... I make no (direct) assertions about anyone else. By the way, this one (also in the blowhard category), now has more recommends than the practical one.

It's not really a mystery Marq. The blowhard posts only require you to feel outraged, betrayed, etc. The other kind actually requires you to take action, by visiting a site and filling out a form, (which I did btw, fwiw).
