Even with Florida and Michigan, Obama Wins

I'm not sure why Hillary thinks it will matter.
Obama is ahead by 143 delegates
http://www.cnn.com/POLITICS/

Florida will net Hillary 38.  (Hillary 105, Obama 67)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florida_Democratic_primary%2C_2008

Michigan will give Hillary 18, if you count Uncommited as Obama.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan_Democratic_primary%2C_2008

Hillary herself approves this:
"However, his supporters organized a substantial vote for 'uncommitted' on the ballot, thus he is represented in the delegation. "  http://www.delegatehub.com/
So, that's a net gain of 56 delegates for Hillary.
Not even half of what she needs to catch up to Obama.
It's over.

Obama Just Won

Hillary and McCain are stupid, stupid stupid.

How do you walk into this trap?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sc9PepjyDow&eurl=http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/

Because Obama's not "finished," as much as Hillary and McCain wish he was.

The minute Hillary started parroting Sean Hannity, I knew it was over.

Seriously.

You're going to argue that Obama is out of touch?

That people in this country aren't bitter?

Let me spell it out in case you didn't get it the first fucking time:

We're mad as Hell at Politic as usual, and we aren't going to take it any more.

Not from the Clintons.  Not from McCain.

That's why Obama is winning, and that's why we will have a real Democratic revolution that will be remembered for years to come.

So, all you stragglers who cynically post against populist values:  Either get on the train, or get out of the way.

Expelled: Ben Stein's Creationist Propaganda

So, saw the ad for "Expelled:  No Intelligence Allowed" on TPM.
Did a quick google, and found this:

I knew Ben Stein was crazy, but not this crazy.
Sigh.  And I thought Kansas already decided this...

Clinton leads Obama in Texas caucuses count?

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/03/06/clinton-leads-obama-in-texas-caucuses-count/
That's the headline.
"At last report, with 40 percent of precincts counted, Barack Obama led Hillary Clinton 56 percent to 44 percent in the Texas Democratic caucuses. Counting continues today.

Clinton beat Obama to win the Texas Democratic primary 51 to 48 percent."

Oops.

"False Hope" on Hillary's Chances

It's ironic that Hillary Clinton derides Obama about "false hope."  She is selling it to her own supporters.
The only hope Hillary has at this point is to convince the Super Delegates that New York, California, Ohio and (probably) Pennsylvania matter more than the rest of the country.
That's the basis of the current argument:  "Yes, we're down in the popular vote and the delegate count, BUT the states we've won are more important than the ones Obama has won."
How do Hillary supporters figure that this will convince Super Delegates, or even the majority of Democrats?
I really am curious, and would like an honest answer!

(For those thinking she can still catch up, I refer you to the math by FlyOnTheWall here:

What If Clinton Wins?

I have a bad feeling.  I don't know why, logic tells me a Clinton comeback is about as likely as Cheney suddenly announcing he'll run for President.
Maybe it was Obama gloomily telling reporters, "Remember New Hampsire."  Maybe it's the fact my volunteer calling didn't go well last night.  Or maybe it's my wife, constantly telling me she's worried, despite my arguments and "proofs" that Obama has this.  Or, maybe it's like Andrew Sullivan says (in his typical over-the-top style):
http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/02/quiet-out-there.html

"We're at that moment in the campaign that reminds me of a horror movie. There's a kind of relief that the worst cannot happen, that the Clintons are politically dead, that our long national nightmare is over. The screen falls silent. We look at pleasant images: green grass, or a kitchen table scene, or a calm lovers' embrace. But you know they have something left. They could come suddenly screaming back, like that hand out of the grave in Carrie or Glenn Close in the bathtub in Fatal Attraction. An Edwards endorsement? A March surprise?

Like Freddy or Jason, they still lurk, ready to pounce again. And the credits are yet to roll. Gulp."

So, what how are other Obama supporters doing?  Are you nervous?

And what will you do if the unexpected actually happens, and Clinton DOES win?

Cunningham to Endorse Hillary?

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=75014288

(link to audio)
NPR thought it was fine to repeat "Barack Hussein Obama" over and over, and didn't ask any obvious follow-up questions to Cunningham's assertions that he was simply calling Barack by his full name, like all Presidents.

A question that I would have asked:  "Like Ronald Reagan?"

Another great Cunningham quote:  "The problem with the media, they treat Obama like he's a diety."  Uh-huh.  He must be watching a different media, that doesn't just repeat every Muslim, drug-dealer story that orginates on Fox news.  Or, the New York Times, which called out Obama's drug use on their front page.
Or, maybe the real point to have Cunningham on NPR, was for him to say that McCain has Alzheimers and so he forgot what Cunningham said.

But here's my favorite part:
"I got an inquiry an hour ago froma Hillary supporter, and she has indicated she'd like to come on my radio talk show... and I think Hillary has a better shot at defending this nation's borders and being an institutionalist in the White House then either McCain or Obama, who's to the left of Senator Bernie Sanders.  So I would go to sleep every night feeling better with Hillary Clinton in the White House, and Bubba upstairs. So, yes, I may endorse soon Hillary Clinton."

Obama in San Antonio

Today, I went to volunteer for Obama's first appearance in San Antonio. Obama was coming to a small area in the west side of San Antonio.  There were Hillary signs in some of the local shops, so I think Obama went here specifically to take on Hillary in her "home turf."
The area picked for a more intimate setting, thus most people were not able to enter the event.  However, Obama did come to address the people still lingering outside of the event.  There were probably 3,000 people at the event in all, which doesn't sound like alot, but considering the size of the area, it's amazing and a credit to the volunteers that all those people were able to park and enter.
When he addressed the crowd, it was electric.  Despite a sound system that was cutting out, everyone was cheering as Obama delivered his standard points:  Ending the war in Iraq, getting health care for all, and getting off of foreign oil.
It's going to be a close race in Texas, but I've personally never been prouder to be a Texas Democrat.  I read somewhere that there have been over 800,000 volunteers sign up in all of Texas. I've personally seen hundreds of volunteers showing up at events, including about 400 last night show up to volunteer for the even today.
