New10: You state:

"Your whole argument is predicated on your belief that a fetus is not a human being."

It is not. My whole argument is predicated on the fact that whatever it is, whatever you want to call it, it exists inside a living, breathing person's body. That is the basis of my argument. Whether you choose to call it a human or not is utterly immaterial. I am not arguing the beginning of "humanity" or "life." I am arguing the primacy of the living, breathing individual whom I can see and to whom I can speak over that of the fetus that she carries inside her. I am arguing that the human body is sacrosanct against all intrusion.

I see your point and acknowledge it. However, any argument and accepts public sentiment without challenge is also doomed to fail. My goal is to challenge the sentiments of which you speak. No fun, I realize, but, I believe, necessary.

Leonce Gaiter Commented on Obama On Rick Warren Pick: We Have To Be Able To Agree To Disagree by Greg Sargent

Of course, Obama is being disingenuous here. He has no problem with Warren being disagreeable -- unless he does not consider equating gays with pedophiles and incestuous siblings to be disagreeability. He only has a problem with gays being "disagreeable." Warren and his ilk can be as disagreeable as they like. Obama did show this side of himself in the primary, and it's part of the reason that I, like some others on the comment board, did not support him for the nomination. He seems to consider homophobia and hatred of gays to be a legitimate sociopolitical point-of-view. I do not. Not anymore than I consider race hatred to be a legitimate sociopolitical point-of-view. My worldview and Obama's differ radically on this point.
