the Democratic? Party
This is what our party is being called now at hillaryis44.
It makes me sad.
I'm probably just a naive sucker idealist who thinks that ideals are more important than personalities.
But it still makes me sad.
The vow: "We will write in Hillary’s name in NOvember."
NO as in no to the Democratic Party.
NO as in no Supreme Court justices who will refuse to overturn Roe v. Wade.
NO as in allowing the war to continue ad nauseum.
NO as in giving free rein to pharmaceutical, medical, financial, legal, (anti-)environental, and anti-American (in the sense of shipping jobs overseas) corporations.
NO as in NO vested interest in raising the minmum wage so that it (at the very least) keeps pace with rising inflation.
NO as in the Geneva convention doesn't matter.
NO as in we'll continue to abstain from signing the Kyoto Protocol.
and so on.
So let me state my position:
Don't put a question mark next to the accurate name of my party, damn it.
Obama is the just recipient of the Democratic Party mantle.
And a vote against him (including a write-in vote for Hillary) is a vote for war, a vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, a vote to continue enriching te monied class, and yes, a vote to keep women and minorities down by pretending that the (still uneven) playing field is actually level.
