The Genocide Clown-Posse
Obama keeps sending Joe Biden to Iraq, where almost nobody pays attention when "Jabbering Joe" shoots off his stupid mouth.
Inside the embassy's sprawling compound, a piercing "duck and cover" alarm began moments after the American military commander, Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, told reporters traveling with Mr. Biden that security remained at its lowest levels since the war began -- despite major bomb attacks like the ones on Aug. 19 that badly damaged two government ministries and killed at least 132 people.
What sense does any of that make?
Shortly after the attacks, Iraqi police opened fire on a car speeding down Palestine Street in eastern Baghdad. That in turn prompted an American patrol to open fire on the Iraqi police in the confusion. "We had to hide behind blast walls," an Iraqi officer said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
Luckily for those Iraqi cops, there are blast walls everywhere in Baghdad, and that great city has been completely transformed into an infinite maze of cages where millions of Iraqis live and die in ethnic isolation from each other.
"I think there has been progress," Mr. Biden said when asked why no significant progress has occurred since his last visit in July.
"I'm here to listen..."
WOOGA wooga WOOGA wooga WOOGA wooga WOOGA wooga WOOGA!!!
That sound you hear means, "duck and cover," Joe! Duck and cover, and...

WOOGA wooga WOOGA wooga WOOGA wooga WOOGA wooga WOOGA...

Is this when all the Obama administration haters come out--at night?
I guess this is all to show ... something ... not sure what. Lots of time spent on reporting the bad stuff, and I agree with you that George Bush and Cheney never had a bad day in Baghdad. Now, our troops did and the Iraqis did, but not Cheney ... er, he did go that one time, didn't he?
I'm glad to see you giving our new president and vice-president a solid seven-and-a-half months to sort out what BushCo. took us seven-and-a-half years to get us into.

You don't get it, and aren't supposed to.
Why bother to comment?

If you don't like the war in Iraq, you must hate Malia Obama. Why do you hate Malia Obama? And her puppy?

Yeah don't you know you have to wait at least two or three more Friedman units for the changey changiness to happen. At least! Then it's gonna be changelicious, we promise.
In the meantime try to ignore the rotting corpses.

Just keep 'em off TV, and nothing else really matters.
And now...

Now is as good a time as any to revisit Biden's plan to partition Iraq.

It wasn't such a bad plan, since most of it had already happened, and Kurdistan has now and had then virtually no connection with the rest of Iraq.
Unfortunately for the Sunni, they don't get their own little country, and after the Americans depart...
God only knows what will happen to them!
For some real insight about how the invasion and occupation affected Sunni women, I recommend Layla Anwar's blog, Arab Woman Blues.
But take a deep breath before you dive into that pool. There are plenty of people who really hate America in Iraq, but most of them aren't as eloquent about it as Layla Anwar.

Your title is so awesome. I don't even really care what you say with a fucking awesome title like that!
Oh and Arab Woman Blues, it is a very good blog.

I'm glad you read Layla Anwar. Her presentation of the reality in Iraq for Sunni women like herself is almost unbearably intense, and many of her friends have disappeared into I can't even imagine what kind of nightmare.

What the hell are we doing? (Said after reading Layla Anwar.) I cannot comprehend this, but then I never could. The spoils of war? What is Iraq about?
Sorry to ask stupid, unanswerable questions. My brain just cannot fathom this unending criminal bullshit.

It's a weird experience to read Arab Woman Blues. I have been all over issues related to Iraq ever since the UN/US embargo more than ten years ago, and sometimes reading Dahr Jamail or Layla Anwar I just feel like... What the fuck? Like I never understood anything.
Just like you said, gasket.

Thanks for saying, RR. I'm glad it's not just me.
I get Dahr Jamail in my email Inbox, and reading him is like reading alternate history. (Of course, his version is not the alternate one.)
