Sure,
Liz Cheney is deserving of some ridicule. But she's no fool. If she and her other republican cohorts don't keep up the faux outrage, her father is looking at a war crimes indictment. He's a long way from out of the woods, and it's her family. If it was my father, I'd be fighting like hell. If the SERE argument is the best she has, so what? I can be critical of her for many things, but sticking up for her old man is not one of them--however odious I personally find him.
That said, the mother ship gets to the point in the last line--namely, she has no business being on television, for the simple reason that most daughters are not going to admit that their parents are war criminals, sadists, or in general horrible human beings. She cannot be considered an objective source of information of this issue by any stretch, nor was she in a position to know what actually occurred by virtue of her government employment. In short, there's nothing newsworthy about her point of view whatsoever.
