It occurred to me while reading this that the more Cheney is in the news bashing Obama, despite his near-universal derision, the more of a smokescreen that he and the rest of the formerly Ongoing Felony Operation (TM) can claim that it's just a political witch hunt, pure payback, or "partisanship run amok." And the dumb ***** that govern our natural discourse will lap it up. If he fades quietly into the background, then pushback would be much less effective.
Still, one can always hope.
