Some Stains Don't Wash Off

Last night was a concession.  It's over.  McCain is thinking rehabilitation.  His running mate is thinking about running for national office again, which should scare anyone with an IQ above 60.  They are entirely at cross purposes.
Palin's demagoguery has demonstrated herself to be little more than trailer trash with good bone structure.  (And given his fond remarks about Holy Joe Lieberman, so has McCain).  McCain has also started to realize that he's going to lose, and he's going to need his pals in the press if he's going to have any shot at being effective in the Senate.  Here's the reality.  Everybody has a "McCain's an ass" story.  And the way that he's run his campaign is going to prevent him from going back to the corps and saying "C'mon fellas!  It's me!  I was just kidding! It's me!  Who wants ribs?"
I don't think that they're going to buy that for quite some time.  At least a week.

Joe Klein's Moment

Having held his nose in order to win (or try to win), McCain would come back to his "base" (e.g., the media) to assure them that he's not the reckless politician he has so clearly become.  The feelers are out for rehabilitation.
Well, is the apology accepted?

Schadenfreude

Or, as Nelson would put it, haw haw.

And he says, 'I'm talking about personal.' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's because of something collective'." --Barack Hussein Obama
