Instapundit Should Be Fired
I'm all for academic freedom. Reynolds can write whatever he wants about the second amendment, or the copyright clause. (I've read some of his scholarship out of curiosity. I don't know enough about the 2A to judge its quality. I do know enough to judge his copyright scholarship (as second author, though) and it is crap.). This is way beyond that.
Tenure protects you for your academic writings. It does not protect you from assisting in the outing of child abuse victims to near-certain retaliation. Even if one considered his blog an academic writing (which brings legal scholarship to a new low), there are such things as clauses against moral turpitude that are designed to enable universities to take action against professors who engage in activity like this.
He should either apologize, publicly, or be gone.
