Um, Why Is There Spam With Zero Recs On TPMDC "Recommended" List?
Title says it all, pretty much. Need to do some rethinking of the list criteria, folks...I dunno if it is just that there are no other posts and the list was autopurged, but this is not working.

More spam in the Cafe than real posts.

Especially this weekend for some reason.

They don't have a lot of staff working weekends at TPM so it must slip by them or something. It really is obnoxious. I wish they could prosecute spammers for that sort of intrusive abuse of space on a website for a blatantly commercial purpose.
I know! Let's accuse them of terrorism and they'll be indefinitely detained and unable to spam again!

We shall ponder this much Karl. We shall, and we shall overcome. ha

And now they've disabled comments? Not that any are likely, just adds insult to injury.

Where did they disable comments?

I emailed a couple days ago about the mass spammer selling bags... a whole pile of posts on Sat -- that blog is still active now: talk/blogs/richardwill
more recent high volume casino spammer: /talk/blogs/arrakis
And it looks like another but lower volume betting spammer: /talk/blogs/scottshapell/
Maybe blogs should have a Report Abuse button with a higher priority than mere emailed reports.

Would a "capcha" tool take care of this?

Arrrgghhhh....now we've got some jackass spamming about cosmetic surgery. It's gotten ridiculous.

Also, DonDavis continues to spam the comments with links to his remarkably unfunny "humour" web site. Just saw him leave his mark on today's TPMDC morning roundup.
By all means, head over to today's morning roundup, find his comment (first one on the page, as usual), and click the 'Report Abuse' link.

Each of us should get one or two ANTI-recommend votes per day, and then we could police this ourselves.
