Obama owes a debt of thanks to 3 people for this night, and so do we. First, to "toots", for helping mold a young boy into the president elect. Secondly to the lion Ted Kennedy. His endorsement early sent the signal that Obama was ready for this moment. And finally, to Hillary. Without her throwing everything in her arsenal at Pres-elect Obama early, we might not be celebrating.

I have long been a silent observer of the comments here at TPM. Alot of you have brought me back from the ledge a million times after reading your common sense posts. Thank you all, and I know you all and I as well have had a piece of this. Either monetarily, or with hours volunteered. Obama wins, yes, but so do all of you. Well, thank you for the compliment. I am just trying to show these kids that when it comes to any election, they shouldn't vote for the party, vote for who you agree with. I dont care if they like McCain, I just want them to be informed. I know it is difficult for most, if not all, 5th graders to grasps the important subjects, but when it comes to demeanor, and how a person carries themselves, kids can tell. And this exercise shows what most of us here know. It was just awesome that these kids from a very red state picked up on it. I know parents have a huge influence on their kids. But, to show how this is working, I took a pool right after the conventions of who the kids wanted to be the Pres. it was 89-4 for McCain, some kids weren't sure. Now, after requiring them to watch the debates, I polled again, and the kids voted 65-30, still for McCain, but if I can get just 10 kids to think for themselves, I feel I have done a pretty good job.
