GOP Slime Says Obama's Hawaii Visit is "An Outrage"

Wow, just wow.  Republican dirtbag Brad Blakeman was questioned on MSNBC by David Schuster about how could McCain claim to be against wasteful spending when Palin has spent over $150k on clothing.  Blakeman then tried to turn the discussion to Obama's trip to visit his dying Grandmother in Hawaii.  He said "Forget about the energy that is wasted, what about the hundreds of thousands of dollars to take a private trip when this guy should be humping his bags on a commercial plane or taking a smaller plane. Taking a 767 of campaign money from people who could least afford it is more of an outrage in my opinion."

I for one have donated $25 from every paycheck to Barack Obama's campaign.  I do not feel my money is being wasted for this trip.  His grandmother helped mold him into the powerful leader he will be for our country.  For that, my money could not be used in a better way.

Didn't we all just know it would come to this?

The Republicans are now so despicable they are attacking someone for going to visit his grandmother, who is very old, has a broken hip, and because of that combination*, is likely very near death. These people are beneath contempt, all of them. And people wondered why I don't feel especially obliged to be nice to Republicans. Your answer is above, in the original post, and on HuffPo.

* Old age + broken hip = frequent demise within a year. Anecdotal, true, can anyone in the medical world bear me out? Gerontologists and ortho people especially welcome to comment.

David Schuster laughed at him the entire time. Ridiculous! Like Obama can just hop on a commercial flight at this point, with no security. Ah...the smell of desperation!

Talk about saying whatever you can to change the subject.

Not going to win many voters over to your side by sliming a man's visit to his ailing grandmother.

As much as we feel empathy for Barack, this appears to be a personal trip. The campaign should be careful to separate the costs and bill Obama's personal account accordingly. Those are the rules and it's best to adhere to them when the expense involved as significantly large as jet travel.

Holiday for cynics has it right in terms of how to handle the costs - that's wise advice. Tagging Obama for this will have blowback, for sure.

"How dare he fly to visit his ailing grandmother?"

Hmm, don't see much traction with that line of attack, Einstein . . .

Where do they get these people? They should get more. Idiot.

This is truly the most unbelievable thing ever said. If I had not seen it, would never have believed it. To make such hateful, unfeeling, callous statements at a time when her life may be endinding is just so far beyond the pale. Why are so many republicans completely lacking in the amenities?

PS:

Sorry, missed editing ending.
