Who's sending fake Voter Registrations out in Florida?

I saw this article referenced on another website. To summarize, a 5-year-old boy, black according to the picture, received an official looking document for voter registration.

Now, normally I'd chalk this up to wacky goofiness and geniune error, but then there was this comment:

The Supervisor of Elections Office told Channel 4 applications are only mailed to adults over age 18 who ask for them, and what Taylor received in the mail definitely didn't come from their office.

(My italics.) So, ok, where did the form come from? Are there others? Are they going to largely black neighbourhoods? And who benefits from a mix-up on whether large numbers of blacks in Florida are questioned on their legitimacy on voting registration?

Not Obama. Because this will mean that all citizens in the areas where these registrations are received are likely to be slowed down in the voting procedure, reducing turn-out.

This sounds so Rovian...

Sarah Palin: Mother in favor of Drunk Driving

Governor Palin: She was for Drunk Driving before she was against it  As per ABC news:

After taking over as Mayor of the small town of Wasilla, Palin fired the longtime local police chief. The former police chief, Irl Stambaugh says he was fired because he stepped on the toes of Palin's campaign contributors, including bar owners and the National Rifle Association.

Stambaugh's lawyer, William Jermain, says the chief tried to move up the closing hours of local bars from 5 a.m. to two a.m. after a spurt of drunk driving accidents and arrests.

"His crackdown on that practice by the bars was not appreciated by her and that was one reason she terminated Irl," said Jermain.

Sarah Palin's new film: Juneau

It's about an underage teenage girl who gets pregnant by her high school sweetheart. She decides not to abort and is supported by her somewhat unconventional parents.

My favorite line:

Mark: Juneau. Like the Roman goddess of marriage?
Juneau: No.

McCain's veep choice is... Tina Fey?!?

That can't be right can it? Yet here's the picture:

No, wait, it must be some new movie Tina is working on. Apparently she's "the first female Governor of Alaska" who's also the mother of five. The character is married to a 5-time snowmobile marathon champion. Sounds far fetched to me. Laughs ensue when she has to get up at 3 am to shoot moose on the same day she has to sign or veto same sex rights legislation.

Update: Comedy legend Tim Conway will be playing "J J MacKane" a former maverick Senator who sold his soul in an attempt to become President. Here's a link to a publicity still and I must say that with the make-up Conway looks uncannily like McCain:

I can't see this succeeding at the box office. It's too silly even for Hollywood.
