DERRIERES OF FURY!
Have you ever seen such furious derrieres!!?!!
The night is young and I could be wrong. I'm writing this with only 18% of the vote from New Jersey counted and less from the Virginia governor's race and NY-23.
My guess is the Dems will lose big all around. And understandably so, when you think about it.
Not that the Republicans have lovable candidates or great ideas. Far from it. But those poor Republican voters actually were dumb enough to think something important was at stake in these races. And so they came to the polls and voted.
On the other hand, disillusioned Democrats and liberals of other stripes knew better than to get worked up over these elections. They stayed calm. They composed themselves and sat motionless in the Zen of it all. They sent a message to Washington without even the effort of breath passing over lips.
Ninja warriors. Sitting on their derrieres of fury.

Before you leave a comment, note that I am not condemning anone who voted or didn't vote. At this point, I could go either way, but would probably wan tot send the message. IMHO, the sooner Obama, Axelrod and Kaine get it, the better.

I'm excited that someone in the government is cracking down on rich folks, like Warren Buffet and those special employees who are soon to receive $20 billion in 2009 bonuses at the most profitable investment bank in the history of the world Goldman Sachs.
Seems Fannie Mae might not drop a $3 billion dollar cream puff on GS because it is a tax credit and is supposed to help people who might lose their houses.
Someone in Wash. DC figured out Goldman Sachs doesn't give a shit about people losing their homes (unless they can turn a profit on it).
The only problem is the person who is trying to take the caviar from Goldman's plate is probably not Obama or Geithner, and when Tiny Tim gets a call from GS he will say he can't legally stop GS from making even more money off taxpayers and maybe he will get a job there that pays more than his current one.
From link above:
The Treasury Department, which controls Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac after pouring $100 million into the housing-finance giants, may block the sale on the grounds that it wouldn't benefit taxpayers, WSJ said.

A year from now will be the real test.
Unless democratic officials who we elected to represent us get some balls and confront republican obstructionists and all the lies and call them exactly that on the house and senate floor I doubt much will be accomplished before Nov 2010. Republicans don't care one whit about the citizens of this country. Democrats have to shove the abundant truth of that right up a bunch of republican asses.

Well, there's Grayson... that's one set of fuzzy orbs. Are there any others out there? (echo, echo, echo...)

Grayson is a light in a sea of darkness. We need to light the place up like Rockefeller Center at Christmas time.
Do you think maybe some other democrats might get the idea that the money Grayson has raised is because he played it straight with voters? We may not be able to get corporate money out of politics but we might be able to wean our elected officals off the corporate teat.

Wean them off the corporate teat? Sure enough. Try this on for size:

Also: Calling Ripper! This might improve your mood. Something to do that doesn't involve derrieres.

Open Secrets gives a rundown of the 2010 races for the house and senate. Senate races, even though it is early, are averaging in the range of $10M. Project that to November of 2010 and the final $ totals for a senate race will be astronomical. What this means is individual citizens or liberal organizations would have to come up with maybe as much as $25M to keep the contributions even. And that doesn't say a thing if the investment will actually pay off. I think most candidates, after they get elected, do what they damn please anyway. Especially in the senate.

Well then, we'll just have to find some who are cut from a different cloth. Difficult yes, impossible, no. Thanks for the link... believe I have it already, but will save it just in case.

You've probably heard, but just in case... the Dem candidate, Owens, won NY-23.

Anomalies may or may not be signs of trends. I liked and rec'd your post. I'm not gown. I just think Obama needs to get the message: Dance with the one brought you.

I caught that. Its a bit of a surprise. The 23rd has been a dependable republican district for a long time. The other races, that I am sure republicans will be crowing about, don't have the significance of this one. I thought Hoffman had a comfortable lead going in. What happened will be the question of the day in the morning.

The Repub Party went with the right wing fanatic (Hoffman) and I'm guessing that moderate Republicans just couldn't stomach another wingnut, so they voted Democrat. However, it remains to be seen if the House now has another blue dog on its hands.
It seems to me that the Repub strategy of deposing moderate Republicans isn't working out so well. We'll see what the future holds, I suppose.

It'll be interesting to hear what Newt has to say. There'll be a lot of spinning going on. It'll make you dizzy for sure if you try and follow it.
