The problem is that John McCain believes that Iraq will be occupied like Japan and Germany were after WWII.  Iraq probably never will be like Japan or Germany, at least not in our, our children's, or even our great-great-great grandchildren's time.  Like the neocons pipedream  rationalizing the Iraq War, there is no scenario favorable to the USA that they cannot envision especially if it involves war and enriching themselves.  John McCain is no great intellect and has a simple solution for each of our complex problems.
