One Tiny Little Example of Just How Long It's Been Baaaaaad
I inherited my uncle's American flag, a big thing that's seen lots of wear in it's day, but I was always happy to stick it up on the house on the 4th of July and such. Had it up during the days after 9/11, but it came down--and stayed down, with the invasion of Iraq.
Today, after rummaging around for several hours, I located the old flag amongst the boxes of stuff down in the basement, and a flagpole, and happily stuck it into the porch bracket. But it wasn't gonna survive for long--
The bush under it had grown too high.
So there I was, out there in the knee-deep Indiana snow, lopping down that criminal bush, and relishing every moment of cutting it down to size, low enough to let that old flag fly freely, unsnagged, and undamaged.
Happy Inauguration, everyone!

See Rebel, I knew I would tear up sooner or later.
Others today are talking about how proud they are of their country and flying the flag instead of burning it.
Good for you.

Fly the flag, but burn the Bush. Way to good!
Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!

Oh, save the Bush for the spring, as life renews. Place it on the ground with your clipped grass and let the worms have at it. Watch it slowly and inevitably return to dirt. We're doing things differently now. No smoke to signal its end or carry the spirit to heaven. Let is silently decay and become compost. Then mix it with manure and feed it to your plants. Maybe spread it out across the yard and walk all over it for years to come.

What a flop that speech was!!! I'd been hearing he was writing it himself. I didn't believe it because of his books being ghost written and all.
But this speech, I believe he wrote with minimal assistance. It was heartening watching people walking off en masse before he finished it!!
Things are already looking up!!!
