A Brilliant Idea on How To Lobby For Healthcare Reform

This idea is great. From http://susiemadrak.com/
"I want every uninsured man and woman who comes down with swine flu to go sit in the waiting rooms of their elected representatives.
Just walk in and state that you are interested in Health insurance and drag the conversation on as long as possible. That should be easy just imagine that you are a rethuglican in the Senate Finance committee and channel the obstructionalist in yourself.
For the Lobbyist just start asking questions.

That's it. Just sit there - coughing. Throwing your used Kleenex in their trash receptacles. If they want us to suffer, they should have to look at at the logical consequences of their inaction. Tell them you're going to keep coming back until they manage to pass something that's actually going to help people instead of lining the pockets of the insurance companies.
If the weather gets cold, set up a tent in the parking lot, put a sign on it that says "Waiting Room: Waiting for Affordable Health Care" and call your local media."
The only thing I would add to it is to add the offices of Health Care Insurance Companies and Lobbyist to the places to visit.Just walk in and state that you are interested in Health insurance and drag the conversation on as long as possible. That should be easy just imagine that you are a rethuglican in the Senate Finance committee and channel the obstructionalist in yourself.

You could make a lot of other people sick by doing this. Is that really what you would like to do?

Who you mean the Congress people blocking reform, or the health insurance people paying to block reform or the lobbyist who are advising on how to block reform.
Without Health Care Reform a lot of people are already getting sicker and dying from lack of prevenitive care and lack of ongoing care. What I would like to see is that burden transfered from the innocent to the guilty.
Let the insurance companies suffer the loss of work hours and increase in thier own health care costs as a result of their greed, let the Congress members opposed to health care suffer the loss of work hours as a result of their callous political calculations and let the lobbyists feel the result of their manipulation of the system.

Cathartic, but wrong. Of course, those lobbyists and congresscritters will also spread it further, to lots of people who don't deserve it.

With out health care reform the it will spread any way but the people who will catch it are individuals who go to the emergency room for sprains and other true "Emergencies" who in their already weaken state will be more susceptible.
Friends/ neighbors / relatives who help nurse the sick volunteerly and considering the increasingly stratified nature of the US society are probably with out health insurance either.
No this is not just cathartic but more of the Viet Nam protests that sought to Bring the War home. Until those who are obstructing health care for all out start to feel the effects of the lack of medical attention for all they will continue to count there money ( from Campaign Contributions, Lobbying fees, Ins Premiums) while the body count goes up.
So no I do not believe that this is simply cathartic no more then self defense when some one is attacking you is simply cathartic.
