		        <![CDATA[<p>I grew up there too. There are a lot of Mormons, particularly in the northern part of the state. But they've been overwhelmed by the new population of the state. And, hey, the Udalls are Mormon, so don't count them all as red!</p>

<p>I think the state has changed demographically a lot like Colorado and New Mexico. It would likely be blue if it weren't McCain's home state. I expect he'll win it, but making it even close is a hell of a moral victory for Obama. But what do I know - I'm from Tucson which was ALWAYS liberal. I worked on Mo Udall's '76 presidential campaign as one of a group of home town high school kids that they shipped out to a few primary states during spring break. In those days, Tucson was an outlier, but I suspect Phoenix is much more like that now as well and a LOT of the population of the state is in those two metro areas.</p>]]>
