Liberman supported McCain in his bid for the presidency in spite of Obama campaigning on his behalf against Lamont, especially when it wasn't politically expedient. In my book, Liberman is a backstabber. Lieberman backstabbed Obama. Harry Reid and President-elect Obama have a number of VALID reasons to get rid of him that have nothing to do with politics, chief among them that Lieberman was TERRIBLE at his job. When you're bad at your job, you get booted.

Wow. And that was "just" the primary. As has been said before, I think turnout models regarding the south are a toss-up right now. I think the story on Nov 4th will be states like Georgia and NC and either how close of a win or loss it was for Obama. I went back to Canada for a family event last week... people there were asking us what it's going to be like. A lot of people want this. Especially after the last 8 years.

The Iraq war, The messed up economy... really there are a lot of people you could blame for it and, you can defend any of the credibly (sort of...). Ushering in an era of divisive politics (South Carolina in 2000 to 'Real Americans' in 2008) is really the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I never thought McCain was Bush. I also don't hate McCain. Don't hate Bush either. That doesn't change the fact that McCain has brought hate to the national stage, embraced it like he embraced Bristol's baby father, legitimized it and then told the American people that they did it because Rep. Lewis called them on it. Pathetic. Call that the deep end... I'll get some goggles and a better swimsuit 'cause it's clear where I am.

I usually refrain from responding to you SFC. I never agree with you, but I value your opinion. That said, the faux-patriotism of your flag-waving reference defeats all your aims to be conciliatory. I've read your comments and respected your opinion... even if I don't agree with it. But seriously, your equivocating this garbage deserves no respect. Republicans like Bachman, Hayes, Palin and McCain are doing more damage to this country than the necons have and probably ever will. I certainly hope the divisive campaign, and more importantly, the divisive ideology you whole-heartedly support with your precious vote, will go down in a blazing defeat on Nov. 4th. Yeah, and let's see how patriotic your "comrades" are when you have to say President Barack Hussein Obama... wave your flags in pride then. Jerks.

Th thing about this quote is that it is really representative of the damage that McCain and Bush and Rove and their minions have done to this country. The economy is messed. The Iraq war was a disaster in planning. But this...this!?!? This is the Republican legacy I will most regret: Division, Xenophobia, Uber-patriotism representative of a dictator-led Germany. The republican legacy of hatred and fear is a legacy of the coward and shallow... and it stinks to high heaven. We can get through the other stuff. But we can't get over this. Throw the bums out. Bachman, Hayes, Palin, McCain. Throw 'em out.

Agreed on the WSJ. However, I don't know about WaPo being that pro-Obama though. Their editorial board has been forced to call out McCain because of the ridiculousness of his actions views and the rash and erratic decision making that has been customary. I think Obama fought an uphill battle with them... helped. A lot of tire-swinging has come from the WaPo (Ruth Marcus, Krauthammer, etc). Obama has taken heat from the Post in the past. I may be wrong on their slant (or lack thereof).

The only safer endorsement is the one after election day. Doesn't take much to endorse Obama now. I like Powell. To me, it sounds like he genuinely got bamboozled by Bush/Cheney. I would hold him in higher regard if he had endorsed Obama a long time ago.
