Kenyan Birth Certificate Proves Birthers have Acute Logic Deficit Disorder (ALDD)

It was an Epict Troll, worthy of noteworthiness, but don't expect any Birthers to change their minds. Facts are useless when dealing with Conspiratards.

This Troll scored very high across the board in the concept, style and effort categories, yet still had only an average aggregate total, because the multiplicative "target difficulty" factor was less than one. Let's be realistic here; suckering a Birther Conspiratard is just a wee bit harder than beating a garden snail in a foot-race.

Also covered by David Weigel at The Washington Independent. If Weigel keeps this up, I might even forgive him for pimping Bob Barr Booie for President in 2009.

I have to say that I feel pretty pissed off with TPM that they are letting David Farrar who hijacked his 'recommended' status somehow to just run his course. He will never stop. He is an attention craving maniac. If TPM wants to let people like that get away with technically hijacking their front page, I am afraid this will soon become a place many of us will no longer want to participate in.

user-pic

Why worry about it? 'S not like anyone takes him seriously.

Besides, he is not even a citizen :)

user-pic

Because he is on the front page of TPM. Much like the senate offering bills on birther crap it gives his garbage the appearance of more legitimacy. And if there are going to be no enforcement of any boundaries here much like in DC it the ones who play by the rules that get overrun.

user-pic

So it looks like the 'townhall' is coming to the TPM blogosphere.

How does he get all those recs? Is it true that you can rec your own blog an unlimited number of times? If so, it seems like it would be an easy fix. Otherwise, I don't know how he does it.

I think the solution is simply not to respond to him. He gets an awful lot of comments (guilty myself) but I don't think his posts are spam; they are just offensive to me, but other than making sure he plays by the rules he has the same rights as anyone else.

I just don't believe the recs are real.

I suspect the Kenyan Birth Certificate issued February 17, 1964 is not a hoax.

Rather, it is a fraud.

Barack Obama, Sr. likely received the Ann Dunham divorce papers in late January or early February 1964 -- a week or several weeks before the certificate was "issued." Prophylactically (alimony, property, support, custody, passports, etc.) it would make sense that he (or his lawyer) would find it advantageous if BHO was born in and was a citizen of Kenya.

In the early years of Kenya's statehood (is it any different today?) how hard would it have been to create a phony birth certificate? How much baksheesh would it take?

user-pic

It's much better than that. Who ever forged it, used a photocop[y of an Australian birth certificate from April 1959, of a man named David Jeffrey Bomford.

this is known to be fact, because it seems Jeffey recognized it from the identical form numbering on it, which the original chopper failed to change or blot out.

(See: Alex Koppelman, "Source for forged Kenyan birth certificate found?", Salon, August 4, 2009.)

Do you have an active link to the Australian's birth certificate.

I understand the website where the certificate was originally posted (genealogical material) is no longer up and the other potential location, http://www.politijab.com/, is a members only forum requiring registration and a password to view whatever content it may have.

In his piece for Salon.com Mobile Koppleman promised that the "images of both certificates can be viewed below." I clicked all links and didn't see the certificates, as promised.

Am I missing something or is this search a fool's errand, the Aussies just having a bit of fun relying upon our all too well established American credulity?

Here's a couple:

SYDNEY - An Australian man who unwittingly found himself embroiled in a conspiracy to oust US President Barack Obama has vowed to be more careful about what he posts on the Internet.

Adelaide public servant David Bomford was plucked from obscurity when US political campaigners released a copy of a birth certificate at the weekend that supposedly showed Obama was born in Kenya.

[. . .]

Bomford said it was hard to believe "a grey-haired old guy sitting in a corner in quiet old Adelaide" had been swept up in a push to unseat the most powerful man in the world.

[. . .]

Bomford said he knew nothing about the "birthers'" claims.

He said the fake Kenyan birth certificate contained his personal details and was clearly based on his own South Australian document.

"It's definitely a copy of my certificate. It's so laughable it's ridiculous," he said

Australian man laughs off Obama birth conspiracy

PM, a series on the Australian Broadcast Channel, tracked down David Bomford, the man whose Australian birth certificate was used as the basis for the forged "Obama Kenyan birth certificate' that Orly Taitz posted online Sunday.

I mised this one in my previous post. An excerpt of the document with the from number clearly showing on it.

And just because it's a fun-loving idea:

politijab.com is a commercial, for pay sit, and Weigel says he was the first to post it there anyway,

If you have the original URL for the genealogy sit, the Wayback Machine or Google cache may be able to pull it out of a top hat,

Frankly, you willingness to believe surprises me. I've always considered you to me more aligned with the Ocam Razor camp, than the LoonieCons.

I don't put any more faith in the rationality of the good-guys than I do in that of the bad-guys -- and that goes for a South Australian duffer no matter that he may think of himself as a good guy.

In the absence of seeing Mr. Bomford's birth certificate for myself I'm not about to take his powers of deduction as a given.

And too, my explanation makes a lot more sense than Mr. Bomford's does.

Thanks Psuedo for putting this out. In the bigger scheme of things, I think that one of the things we need to watch is how easy it is to deceive (particularly those eager to be deceived). Another example is the photoshopping by Iran of their missile release. On the positive side, there are those with the technical skills or background info to catch at least some of the muck that passes itself off as truth.

BTW I give no credence to the birther claims.
