Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
the Gunpowder Treason and plot,
I know of no reason
why the Gunpowder Treason
should ever be forgot.

Thanks for the Anon link, Cy.

Thanks for this, PCA. One thing that came up on the anon site was for Americans to donate bandwidth for the Tor Network.

I set up as a relay and it seems to be working - but I was just wondering if you have heard whether Tor is still accessible to Iranians?

user-pic

I believe that domestic Iranians are able to use Tor, and that the information has been spread across the wired segment of their population. I am also of the opinion, that giving Tor free personal bandwidth indefinitely, it may not be the wisest thing to do in our modern world. Tor is an excellent proxy system, which enables people who live behind nationally imposed content filters to acquire knowledge anonymously. The anon factor means it is also getting exploited for other purposes, many of which are illegal, or liable to draw attention from our domestic monitoring intelligence services. For now, I don't think donating bandwidth to Tor will get you flagged, but you need to consider how long you are willing to allow it.

OT, but MidC_Bill gave me a free elliptic shot at Saxby Chamblis that may amuse you.

I gotta tell you, PCA, what was the best was watching you shoot down CT like you did. Had to get more popcorn for that one. Good job!!!

Not going to Tor indefinitely. Just thought it would help out during the crisis. Then I want my bandwidth back!

As for that CMN one that you popped on another blog, here is a screenshot of his bio page before he scrubbed it. He started stalking me when I called him on it till I threatened to send the ss to the Cafe management. He goes by crymorenoob, which is a lame reference to this, I guess. He is one nasty, nasty little boy.

Meet me back here and let me know what you think of him?

I must admit that CT's pseudo and avatar initially caused me to be a bit unjustly biased towards the TPM member from the git. Over time though, CT has often proved to be worthy of targeting. Portraying the Tao in two different shades of blue is strongly indicative of fuzzy logic failure, not Clear-Thinking. Even a casual shallow contemplation of the Tao should manifest itself with a concomitant understanding that any attempt to visually symbolise it need be clearly depicted with an inherent sense of opposite forces in constantly flowing interactive motion with each other, and requires near opposite shades to do so. It is a method for creating order from the force of life's chaos. Zen practise strives towards a perspective from within the point of transition between the two oppositional forces. The place in the changes that is motionless (almost a Koan-like contradiction, isn' it?). It's a valid method, but not for me, as I enjoy being tubed within the leading wavefronts. The problem with that perspective is that it requires great patience, as one must still be in a fortuitous position awaiting, when a wave begins to break. When first engaging CT, I sometimes attempted to convey lightly my sense of irony with his pseudo and avatar, but he wanted none of it, and instead seemed to perceive my intents as being motivated out of spiteful disrespect. Over time, this has ratcheted up into sniping incidents. Compare that to Lux Umbra Dei, who was able to work with elliptic and obscure faint scents set upon a slight breeze, and comprehend substantive meaning, even without understanding why/how I did this (so many reasons, some even I don't really understand, including ungraded tests, traps, tells, alarms, etc. i often act from a belief in the validity of my own intuitiveness). I miss Lux. CT seems motivated from a need to just win brawls, and too often resorts to a rhetorical game that really irritates me: arguing against my style of using hyperbole as humour, and ignoring the substance. (I still haven't come close to grasping what motivates Eds to lamely troll me though...)

CMN is an completely new (for me) TPM Cafe member, and I discovered the claims of libertarianism from the member's almost contentless user page. You know that my libertarianism is non-standard from much of present-day libertarian thought in the US. In Europe, much of it would not even be considered radical.. I consider the LP National's assertions of a natural affinity between libertarianism and contemporary conservatism to be an obscenity; it's open-arms acceptance of Neo-Confederates, and Christian Dominion proponents of theocracy antithetical to libertarian theory; the promotion of tawdry sports betting tout conman, and patent troll, Wayne Root, as an LP spokesman reprehensible; the elevation of all property rights to first-tier natural rights stature ungrounded in logical thought; the defense of public corporations as persons within the understanding of the 13th and 14th amendments as being anti-free market, and anti-individual liberty; its tilt away from the sound principle of open borders an arrogant disregard for a foundational cornerstone of The Nation conception; the fatuous belief that Ron Paul actually represents anything close to libertarianism laughably uniformed, and its embrace of the inhumane Miseserly Austrian Schooled love of possessions which override concerns about others' natural rights, to be an inexcusable acceptance of the drool that dribbles from the mouths of demented Hapsburg Monarchists as libertarianism's Eucharistic blood-wine route to salvation, which can only lead to neo-feudalism, not liberty. Admittedly, non-standard American libertarian theory, but certainly unworthy of the LP National's derogation of belonging within the anarchist-wing of the party.

How was that for a free-falling raving? I plan to email a reply to last night's message from you soon, but cannot predict a decent estimate of when. sorry bout that...

user-pic

Loved the free falling Raving. Loved even more that I followed the whole thing. And completely agree, I think. :-) The Demented Hapsburg Monarchists is a keeper, as well as the Miseserly AS. What a hoot.

I could be completely wrong, but does CT know the difference between a Tau and a toe? That could be his avatar because he liked the picture. I have no use for his aggrandizement of self that is just laughable to almost everyone but him. I think he's in a basement somewhere, fat and unhappy or something, sending postcards to TPM out of his ass.

Lux was quite a guy.

Write when you want. No stress from me. Just glad to have connected again!

And thanks for CMN evaluation. I do not like him one bit. Did you see what his favorite books are?

user-pic

welcome, and glad you appreciated it. Take a look at the MiddleClassBill thread next chance you get. I'm about to lay down a full-choked scattershot response to CT, that is an honest analysis of Senator Boxer's request to be called "Senator" during the recent EPW Committee hearing, composed after I'd completed a decent depth data-dive into the topic.

I'm guessing CT wil not be amused...

user-pic

But I was.

i noticed and apreciated that bwak.

i presently am within a compositional groove. it may be resultant from the near constant irritation i've experienced in my back for several months now. this needs to be channeled somewhere, and i prefer if that somewhere is a decent topic or proper target of opportunity, rather than just directed at some innocent who happened to be within range when compelled with a need to explosively release negative energy, including a building sense of falling behind in personal goals for this year.

presently, the wayward vertebra seems to have almost centered itself perfectly, yet this has not resulted in it setting itself properly, and instead has been a fairly painful constant reminder that it has not snapped into place (i suspect that if if did, i would experience some very intense pain for a day or two, until the inflammation backed-down) it feels much like a joint that needs to be cracked into place (knuckle, wrist, knee, ankle have all felt this way when healing past injuries). the main difference being that this is the skeletal protection system for my spinal cord, and I need to exercise due caution.

It has improved substantially, but every time I think its about to be beat, a setback occurs. A couple of weeks ago it felt good enough to step-up my walking, but I ended up relying too heavily on a cane, and re-irritated two old right-side rib cage injuries from long ago, one a cracked rib I sustained in my last HS football game with a direct hit from an opposing team player's helmet; the other about a 15 year ago pinched nerve just under my right shoulder that causes psin in my upper ribs, which I got from a several month, long commute in an old beat-up car with a broken down front seat.

For 1 1/2 weeks now, just rolling over in bed from my back to right-side has been a slow arduous and painful exercise, and has not yet healed to where I am able to sleep on my right-side again. even so, I've still not reached the point where I am willing to visit a strange medical office and brand-new MD. All of my previous familiar MDs have retired, and I'm not up to explaining to a new one that I take my own blood-pressure at least several times a week; that in the last 5 months if has moved-up from a very acceptable 115/60 to a still non-threatening 130/70, and for as long as I can remember it has always spiked hard whenever I first visit a new MD (at this point i can easily visualise about 180/100 if an aggressive tech takes it). Nor do I feel like arguing against full panel blood, liver and kidney lab work-ups, although at my age it's probably advisable, sine the last time was a little over a decade ago, but in my present condition will be skewed due to my constant ingestion of OTC pain meds, along with stress-factors that are a part of my back problem, and should be done after this has been rectified. Doctors who have a familiarity with me, seem to listen to my personal assessments, but new Doctors seem to believe I'm being illogically intransigent.

Enough complaining to you though bwak, although i find it a little remarkable that even with all of this, i've managed to evolve my thought processes in a direction i perceive as being positive. this must be resolved though, or at some future time, it will end up breaking me.

Here's a very eccentric off the wall music video ref, from back when she was able to carry herself on her voice alone, but still performed, and before she became desperately in need of a sandwich, that for some absurd reason seems appropriate. Here's another somewhat dissonant music vieo ref, of a person many friends have been surprised to learn of my affection for her music, and one who has never seemed compelled to starve herself. Kick ass pipes and a blow me away performance style. at least i ended this message on an up-note...

Hang in there, Cyants. I remember the Madonna fondly, and I admire Bette, myself.

You are surprising, so that's no surprise. I wish I knew an MD, I'd take you both out for drinks.

=D

user-pic

I like the second one a lot. Actually, it seems I like Bette Middler every time I hear her do anything yet I have never persued her music, so thanks.

user-pic

hey bro, how's it going?

user-pic

Things are going well and I'm feeling so good that I worry the gov will get wind and make something else illegal. Hope your back heals quickly. I know how good it feels when it quits hurting.
