Healthcare Reform Now Require Eventual Private Health Insurance Death
Healthcare must be an inalienable right and must be treated as such. This will only be realized if we find a balance between for profit free market services and not for profit government services.
Call your congressman today. Tell them you want a single payer public option in the healthcare reform bill. Do it today as the policy is being written now.

It is imperative that we put the pressure on President Obama and Congress now. The insurance companies attempted to co-op the issue by claiming they wanted to be a part of the solution. Nothing could be further from the truth. They are sabotaging the legislation so we must act now.

"Healthcare must be an inalienable right and must be treated as such."
So, write a Constitutional Amendment, quick! Otherwise your position is simply the weak voice of an anti-pragmatic idealism.
"...provide for both the common defense and health care services for all, promote the general welfare..." should do nicely.
Single payer is of course taxpayer payers when you strip off the veneer. And if SP is a "public option" then off course since there are other options, you don't have single payer in any sense of the word.
So, what is the real objective here?

Insurance coverage is NOT health care. The two really have little in common. I do not want to buy insurance coverage from a company that is in it for profit. If they are in it for profit, they have a vested interest in denying me health care! They want to take my money and give me little or nothing in return. That is why Medicare for all citizens is the only reasonable approach.

What if their profit were not related to your access to health care, but more like a cost+ deal -- then they would want you to have the very most expensive care available!
