America, A Majority Evil Nation: K-Lo & the Archbishop
I'm pretty accustomed to moralistic pronouncements from crazy Catholic priests, but this one is just a bit over the top.
Wonder if Kathryn got around to asking the archbishop about torture. Doubt it.
LOPEZ: You seemed to make very clear that Catholic voters collaborated with evil when they voted for Obama. If you're Catholic and did, do you have to confess this now that Mexico City, embryo-destructive funding, among other things, have happened?
ARCHBISHOP BURKE: If a Catholic knowingly and deliberately votes for a person who is in favor of the most grievous violations of the natural moral law, then he has formally cooperated in a grave evil and must confess his serious sin. Since President Obama clearly announced, during the election campaign, his anti-life and anti-family agenda, a Catholic who knew his agenda regarding, for example, procured abortion, embryonic-stem-cell research, and same-sex marriage, could not have voted for him with a clear conscience.

Just reaffirms why I am a non-practicing Catholic. How about how the Vatican tried to cover up the fact they had numerous pedophile priests, Bishop? Ever hear the passage about those without sin and casting stones...you hypocrite.

What I cannot believe is how right wing Christians are getting together. I mean Pat Robertson, when he is not talking about off shore tax relief for corps, airs partial speeches by the el papa.
Weird huh?
Good find.

Well Robertson is very pro-Israel too...which flies in the face of another one of his follower's core beliefs. Another example of the adage that politics make for strange bedfellows dd. The enemy of my enemy scenario I guess...

Yeah. In the beginning in this country the jews and the catholics were right behind the black man.
There is something bad...but there is something good about this. I think. I mean there could be. HAH!

Well the good thing is all the Dodo birds are flocking together. Easier to identify the cuckoos...
Well yeah, Jews and Catholics represented 2 of the K's in KKK.

It's as if the Catholic Church is going out of its way to alienate moderate Catholics.
I'm a former Catholic, and was never a big fan of some of the Church's policies, but the trend in recent years of these sorts of statements being made, along with the fact that bigot Bill Donahue is the most prominent Catholic in America is beginning to make me hate the Church.

The Archbishop is a dingbat. Catholics should promote the City of God on Earth, an Earth that is free of the need for abortions. The Church knows full well that outlawing the practice will hurt more than it harms and decent Catholics should see that performing good works and loving your neighbor will help promote a future where Christ's laws and love reign supreme. All this bunghole is doing is comingling faith and politics. Badly.
