Puleeze!
Say it ain't so, Mondoweiss. Say it ain't so.
P.S. Giving up a lot of front page territory in exchange for not a lot of content, aren't we?

I've got an idea.
Doubtless, there are a few writerly gems struggling to get out from under the pile of logorrheic effluvium they find themselves in at Mondoweiss.
Why not post these few gems and provide the link (as above) for those who might wish to subject themselves to more of the difference.

This is my reward for promoting you so much on TPM. Outflanked from the left in my (actually Josh's turf).
No good deed goes unpunished!!!!
Welcome. Stay safe in J-land.

@ Ellen....mehhh
Your penchant for unnecessary rococo suggests a bit of repressed narcissism. A lot to prove, eh?

More importantly, glad to see Mondoweiss added to TPM. Phil and friends are refreshing, independent and uncompromising. A very welcome addition and an opportunity for a greater diversity of opinion.

Great to see Phil Weiss getting this exposure. His is one of the best blogs around... an essential resource.

So let him expose himself on Mondoweiss.

Between Saturday and Sunday (15 hrs. 19 mins.) Mondoweiss posted 8 blog entries and a final triumphant one 2 minutes later. The boyz occupy well over half of the front page.
And in the 38+ hours since first posting they've managed to garner a total of 14 comments (excluding this housekeeping blog).
Apparently, Mondoweiss' blog is not only one of the "best blogs around"; it's also either the most boring or the most unreadable.
C'mon fans; get those typing fingers typing.
Suggestions: "I agree with everything you said." "Highly recommended." "Couldn't have said it better myself."

Correction: "15 hrs. 19 mins." should be 27 hrs. 19 mins.

I don't think Weiss should monopolize these pages or post everything that comes into his head here as he is free to do in his own blog,. Having said that however, I think Weiss's point of view is clearer than, say, Rosenberg's for example, and I'm glad to see it here

Ellen, your contributions on this thread rival the no. of entries posted from mondoweiss. Given your usual MO of random (but well-crafted) snarkhits I'm impressed that this "issue" has fully engaged your attention.
While I don't think it's appropriate for the Cafe to be a "mirror" of mondoweiss given the present crappy set-up, I do think it's about goddam time that viewpoints other than those from disconnected academics and hasbaristas such as Jo Ann Mort are represented here.
Phil and Adam have the freedom to say and report on whatever strikes them and Phil's dispatches from the front lines are a welcome addition to the NY/DC centric pov that dominates too much of what passes for political discourse in this country; especially when it comes to ME FP.
That particular arena is fraught with pitfalls as one can see in the growing list of enemies signing on to attack MJ Rosenberg...Larry Ben-David on the JPost being the latest example (Congratulations MJ!)
Hopefully, TPM will come up with someone who can credibly discuss geopolitical/military/FP/security issues in the future. The context for discussions involving Israel is way too narrowly focused.
