NC's early voting certainly helped. Yet, on election afternoon, Sean Hannity was already calling for the end of all early voting laws and initiatives because it so clearly results in voter fraud and ballot box stuffing (NOT!). Typical BS from him. But, then again, in my opinion he lies and his listeners swear by it (what "great Americans !!"). Anything that results in increased voter registration and/or turnout is necessarily a bad thing for right wingers. Remember all the motor-voter registration measures that they always shot down? Look for there to be another effort by the neocons to short circuit any future early voting measures. Hannity represents just the beginning of the neocon/right wing propaganda campaign aimed at building up opposition to a very worthwhile effort to make sure as many properly registered voters have a reasonable opportunity to vote.

I live in Center City Philadelphia. I've voted for the last 17 years at the same polling place. Before today, at each election (including Clinton's in 1992, which was supposed to have "huge" turnout) I arrived at about 7:15 a.m., waited 5 minutes and was anywhere between number 5 and 20 (tops) to vote. Today was a much different story. I arrived at the same time and was pleasantly surprised to see a line out the door and around the corner. I was number 109 to vote.

Last time I checked, the "earned income tax credit" was a perfect example of redistribution of wealth via the tax system. And who was the biggest prononent of it? Who was it that made sure it was passed into law? President Ronald Reagan, that's who! I guess he was a Socialist too, Senator McCain.
