Sometimes you need a voice of reason. Rand had a way of cutting through the BS and making a good point. In his memoir Greenspan recounts how Rand conceived him that rationally he was nothing. Now we need a new voice of reason for our present crisis. I found that voice in this new article by Steve Forbes: . He does a great job of demonstrating how capitalism plays the crucial role in getting us out of our current mess. I commend it to you.

It is helpful to look at the history of this case. The historical perspective makes one thing seem very odd: why haven't allegations of lying to the FBI been brought up before? Don't you think someone would have brought it up during the first trial? Tobin was acquited more than a year ago, why weren't these allegations raised then? Why is that all of a sudden, 20 days before the election, that there are new allegations against Tobin? Doesn't the timing seem odd? Dare I say, doesn't the timing seem calculated?

This is a great way for the struggling Shaheen campaing to get a quick bump in the polls in her close race with incumbent Sununu. The sad part is that she is playing politics by slandering a good man's name.

History is important because it creates the conext for the present. Given the long history of this case, the current events can be seen in their true and shameful light.
