Gumdrop is tucked in safe and sound after a Deltastic! travel experience (Delcasm intended).

She says hi to everyone and is ready to make a difference representing us who demand humane health care reform; which must include 'costing-out' (at the very least) of Single Payer and an absolute commitment to the inclusion of a true Public Option.

I want everyone to imagine, for the rest of the night, that we are 1 year into the future and we have achieved our goals of providing real access to doctors and medicine for everyone in the U.S.

What would that be like?

What changes might that mean for our country, for us?

We must believe that this change can happen. Our belief is the reason these people have uprooted their lives this week on behalf of the rest of us.

Thank you for sharing this, darling. You are the picture of courage. I fall in love with you more every day.

I am grateful that until last Fall (when you nursed me through recurring Salmonella poisoning), the only major affliction I have previously suffered (other than broken bones and such) occurred during my Junior year abroad in the U.K.

I could not understand when the college Steward directed me to the local medical center. Do I need a credit card or cash I asked? He looked at me like I had just eaten a kitten.

I didn't need money for the care or the medicine that they gave me as they treated me (very effectively in my particular case, I must add).

I thought, at first, that I was receiving the care because I was a student, or because I had health care in the states, but I was wrong.

If you become sick in the U.K. they treat you and give you medicine, for free. At least that's how it was way back in 1994.

How horribly rational ... access for all to doctors and medicine. It is time.

Yes. I have always been half thankful that MSNBC showed Lockup: Ohio (or wherever)on the weekends, it forced me to go outside simply to avoid the problematic situation of spending my 'free' time watching the incarcerated on TV ... which is just too sad for words.

Dear Senator Baucus,

I am following the developments on the health care reform options that are being floated through the Senate Finance Committee. I urge you to consider a full public option along the lines of what your colleague Sen. Kennedy is recommending.

I will be contacting my own Senators in order to urge them to urge you, also. This issue will not disappear. If you kill the public option, there will be hunger strikes and marches. I can already feel them coming from the conversations I've had. No one will be fooled this time.

From a dudes perspective, all I can say is that next to the thoughtful and reasoned voice of Judge Sotomayor, Mr. Liddy sounds like the one suffering from P.M.D.D.

Whenever he's on the tube he also appears to be suffering from hot flashes, and he's let the ol' figure go a little bit, too.

But I guess you are entitled to not really care anymore when you get to a certain age...
