After a while, when every vote you cast is the same as republicans, there it becomes obvious what you really are.

Grayson is the ONLY dem I will donate to until the HC reform bill with a Public option is signed... he spoke the truth and faced the CNN media machine! The Congress is weak kneed on both sides of the aisle. Lets get rid of them that are obstructionist...McConnel is a putz as well as a liar..,he is only one on the Party of No side that needs to be bootstrapped short hairs and all..

For sheer soulless gall, gotta love Baucus' "it was my job to get a bill that would pass." No, Max, it was your job to continue lap-dancing the insurance industry. You fool no one, cheap trollop.

Meanwhile, Obama's response is to fly to the Netherlands in an effort to lobby the IOC into giving his beloved Chicago the summer olympics.

At least he's got his priorities straight. Being a fan of sports is about all I've got in common with president O-DAWG.

"his beloved Chicago"

So, what's wrong with that?

You seem enamored with Gettysburg.

As for your having nothing in common with Obama, I would agree.

He's a very bright, articulate guy.

user-pic

Excuse me, but Copenhagen is in Denmark, not the Netherlands.

Hahahaha . . .

Yup... All that wasted education and Geography wasn't his suit.

GB probably believes Pittsburgh is in West Vergeenie.

Biggest rock on the block.

Shut up, troll. We already know what Rush tuhinks.

Why blame the Blue Dogs?

I got a letter from President Obama today. Whoop de doo.

This is what he tells me about health care. This is all he tells me about health care:

"Comprehensively reforming health INSURANCE so that families, businesses and government are relieved from the crushing COSTS that impede ECONOMIC GROWTH and PROSPERITY."

The caps are mine but I was thinking that maybe I had gotten a letter from Club for Growth or the Cato Institute or the Heritage Foundation or maybe AEI by mistake.

Silly, old-fashioned, liberal me. I thought we were trying to heal the sick. Little did I know this was all about ECONOMIC GROWTH.

This is why I no longer call myself a Democrat. These are not my values. These are values so conservative they dare not speak of compassion, care, concern, our obligations to each other. These are not liberal values. These are not any kind of progressive values I will own.

Obama, if you think that is what health care is about then I wonder how much care giving you've ever been associated with because if you've ever been a caregiver you know it is not about economic growth.

Compelling emphasis, Bluebell. Shudder worthy, actually. From our "yes we can/ audacity of hope" president, a summary of health care reform that emphasizes "the crushing costs" not to us, to you and to me, but instead to "economic growth."
I'm heartsick. Is that a pre-existing condition?

Hmmmm . . . That is very Interesting . . .

That was a message that was presented back in March as part of the Organizing for America information and in it's context then was strictly addressing Obama's budget plan to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term.

Here's what I had received back in March:

President Obama’s budget includes a plan to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term and create jobs by investing in the three areas most critical to our future:

  • Energy: Transforming America’s economy to run on clean and renewable energy in order to create new American jobs and industries
  • Health care: Comprehensively reforming health care so that families, businesses, and government are relieved from the crushing costs that impede economic growth and prosperity
  • Education: Reforming and investing in America’s education system so that citizens are prepared to compete in a global economy

  • Funny that that particular section was specifically taken out of that context and sent to Bluebell here some 6 months later.

It's the same piece I think but the fundraising letter appears to have been written by a word processing robot - a bunch of paragraphs with no theme asking me to stand with Obama but conveniently avoiding Obama taking a stand on any issue. How can you stand with someone who won't tell you what he is committed to standing for?

    OGD:

Looks like they served you old jello in the old folks home today. You've been a surly old man lately.

    Ya' think wrong . . . GB . . .

Tell ya' the truth I just got off of 22 days on the road meeting and greeting all kinds of wonderful folks across our nation in actual 3-D. Ya' ought to try it.

We even played Pittsburgh and Charleston, West Vergeenie. And I didn't need a GPS to find which way the wind blows.

And here's the band and crew in in Göteborg, Sweden getting ready to head to the airport and a flight to Copenhagen, DENMARK in 2005.

It's a pretty good way to spend your retirement, Eh? Well, semi-retired I'd guess you'd say.

    A rock & roller OGD?

To provide you with an opportunity for a gratuitous plug of the band, what is its name? Might take in a show if you get near enough to CT.

That's good stuff, OGD, but why would I be the "biggest rock on the block?" Just for merely having a different philosophy than a strict party-line Democrat?

Yes, I mistakenly said Obama went to the Netherlands instead of Denmark. That probably happened because I had just read a story about the Netherlands national cricket team replacing Ireland in a huge English cricket tournament and for some reason the name stuck in my mind.

And I've also been to all 4 corners of this country. Hell, I live 2000 miles from where I grew up. And, believe it or not, I've never listened to Rush Limbaugh. Not one single time.

One of the interesting things I've noticed about living in California (and talking on these boards) is that nobody believes it's possible to despise both political parties (which I do).

Any time I criticize Obama or the Democrats, I'm labeled as either a racist or a Neo-Con by the Democrats. On Conservative blogs, I'm considered a liberal because I'm pro-choice and think religion should play no role in politics.

I would find it troubling if I weren't an atheist and perfectly well accustomed to living in a country full of rigid dogma's and, quite frankly, brainwashed or brain dead citizens.

And I LOVE anecdotal evidence. It's the best form of evidence there is.

Dear biggest rock on the block . . .

No ... I don't give a shit what your party ID is. But to answer this:

... but why would I be the "biggest rock on the block?"

Well, that's due in part to the fact that you're supposedly steeped in history, yet having not a clue of world geography. In addition to making broad statements in the past as highlighted below that exhibits a clear case of how out of touch one can be with reality:

    On April 20, 2006 - 4:45pm Gettysburg said:

"The Constitution is as strong today as it has ever been and the Iraq War will be remembered as a minor historical footnote."

    Riought . . .

Now when combined, the above exhibits to me that you're very limited in your view of reality that surrounds you. And, in my opinion, what with knowing your past years of dumping unrelated crap in threads makes you the biggest rock on the block.

Now keep your punk ass attempts at inciting flame-wars out of my blog threads unless you'd like to adhere to the specific subject matter being discussed in the thread.

    Later ... Rock!
