Rep. Shuler's blue dog position statement on why he voted against HR. 1.

"Additionally, I am remarkably disappointed in House leadership for bringing a bill of

this size and magnitude up for a vote without giving members adequate time to review it

fully. We must have a greater respect for this institution and for its Members."

I guess Shuler is too busy raising funds for his Senate run in 2010 as a republican to keep current on legislation for the greatest need of the middle class of America. Hell, he can't keep up during the three weeks this bill was being debated and bouncing between the house and senate. He makes it sound like it was drafted in one night and he was demanded to vote on it immediately.
