Sarah & Greta and the Surprise for the kids.

Ok. I know the race is over and the best candidate won, but now Sarah Palin has "also" admitted that Todd put her kids on the plane to Ohio for her announcement of being the "VP pick" to surprise them.  He suggested the same thing in an ealier interview with Greta.

That's fine.  Surprise the kids. Mommy's going to run for Vice President.  But let's not forget that this was more than a surprise for her 17 year old daughter who was pregnant.  It had to be a shock to find yourself in the national spotlight only hours after stepping off an airplane trip that was supposed to be a surprise.  It was a major imposition on her privacy.  No wonder she looked so uncomfortable on that stage, holding her baby brother and a blanket, so as to shield her pregnancy.  If Governor Palin did not inform her daughter of her intention to renter the national scene before she got on the aircraft, it is shameful.  If this is the case, im my opinion, it was a selfish decision a mother and I wish someone would call her out on it.

The need for secrecy in some aspects of Presidential politics is understandable.  But, to thrust your young, unwed teenage daughter into the spotlight for political reasons, without the decency of a warning is shameful.

Well, it's pretty clear that Sarah Palin is all about what's good for Sarah Palin - even at the expense of her family. Let's hope she fades quickly from our public awareness. She's poison.

user-pic

Amen - about her being poison. I'll be more than happy when she disappears from the national scene ... if she does. I've been shocked to learn some of the people that I know who thought, and think, she would just HAVE to be a good leader because..... because ..... Well, they can't quite explain other than words like "vibrancy" and "poise" and "energy", but they just unquestioningly KNOW whe would be wonderful. Geesh, and they called Obama supporters koolaid-drinkers!! I'm so glad the American people had the good sense to vote for someone with good sense, but it was terribly, terribly close and the thought still scares me. I can hope that most of the Rep votes were for McCain and hoping-he-stays-healthy, but I've talked to at least two otherwise sane people who didn't like McCain at all but voted for him because Sarah was there! Hmmmm - Bristol's old enought to vote, right? I wonder if in the privacy of the voting booth..... --- Agree that if she wasn't forewarned, that was simply cruel.

I think it is amazing how liberals have taken every opportunity to lash out at Sarah Palin. I Think that most of them were nervous because they realized that she had more administrative experience and better instincts than their presidential candidate. They were just trying to distract everyone from that fact.

user-pic

Yes, God knows spending Thursdays signing checks in Wasilla and leaving the town tens of millions of dollars in debt was enough experience to jet propel her past Barack Obama, let alone being governor of a state that ranks 47th in terms of population!

And the fact that it took her 5 or 6 transfers into different colleges to get her BA in journalism is testimony to how experienced she is in terms of education. Forget that Obama has a Harvard law degree (which clearly, no one ever wants for themselves or their kids)! Forget that he was selected to head the Harvard Law Review, one of the most historically stodgy such publications in the country!

Yes, Bob, we liberals were really nervous at the comparison between the check signer and Obama. Jealous, too.

But, as luck would have it, our guy won. Decisively, too. Will wonders never cease!?!

I have had more executive experience than Sarah Palin, and I know more about the world than she does because I am curious about it. I have travelled widely and can actually state the news sources that I depend on. Sarah Palin is ignorant, and doubly so because she doesn't realize it.

Putting down Obama's degrees betray the general belief in the republican party that education is for elites. Who cares about facts? They are easily refuted by faith! Who cares about science? Use religion to justify your stance against abortion and stem cell research even though the bible doesn't mention embryos (because the MEN who made it up didn't know about them -- would have been nice if the presumed author -- god -- had deigned to actually educate people through the bible, huh?).

The point about Obama's education is that he did well in a rigorous course of study; he studied law and the Constitution, both of which might come in handy as president.

Oh, and the other thing about him is that he has obviously thought about the big picture. Sarah has clearly not. Anyone with any sense would know to "blink" when offered the opportunity to run for the second most important job in the world.

Oh, I just saw her tell Wolfe Blitzer that she would be honored to help President Obama in any area that he would like, such as "special needs children." Why the hell would she want to work with someone she has no respect for, and whom she thinks is a socialist, a communist, and "pals around with terrorists."

She is beneath his contempt, and is stupid to boot. Baracuda, go back to where you came from. You are disgusting.

If administrative experience is so important to you, why didn't you support Mitt Romney? And if administrative experience -- instead of judgement, intellect, decision-making skill and temperament -- is so important, then why have George Bush and Dick Cheney been such utter miserable failures? Cheney has tons of administrative experience and all he did with it was pimp an unjust war, trash the Constitution and enrich his friends.

The Harvard degree would be an impressive credential if he were applying for a position as a lawyer. He ran for a position as the head administrator of the government. He has no administrative experience. I agree that he is a good speaker, but other than that it was all smoke and mirrors.

He ran on "change". From what I see, the only thing he plans on changing is to take one person's money and change it to someone elses bank account.

And yes he did win. Did you ever hear of P.T. Barnum?

Palin has contradicted that story already.

She said she discussed the VP proposal with "the girls" long before that plane trip. You will find this in Andrew Sullivan's "The Odd Lies of Sarah Palin" where he has a long list with all the cites to back it up.

user-pic

Yeah, I meant to bring that up above. She is a serial liar, and not smart enough to know that those lies are recorded.

user-pic

I want someone in the media - anyone - to ask her why those kids were not in school.

Piper Palin is 7 years old and she's run all over the country in high heels, dragging around Louis Vuitton bag and I want to know why the hell she wasn't in school.

Somebody please ask - that's not sexist - it's just a question of good parenting. Helll, the Obamas didn't take their daughters out of school to visit the White House the first time - that's the way my parents would have done it.

Why weren't those Palin kids in school, dammit?

user-pic

Ooohhhh...me....call on me!

Because they were props?

user-pic

In what respect, Tena?

They were being 'home-skooled'! Duh! ;)

I mean, where else could they learn vital information like the history of cavemen killing dinosaurs and how the Lord created the universe 4000-6000 yrs ago, how to prevent witchcraft, the capital of the country of Africa, which countries are in the "NORTH AMERICAN free trade agreement", the 623 different Inuit ways to say 'you betcha!', how the vice president runs the senate, and which parts of America are 'real' so they'll know where to go when Putin rears his evil head!!!

You can't learn all that in one of those fancy-smancy 'schools', by golly! No say it ain't so! [wink]

Alright, must sit down and recharge now. My snark meter has dipped below empty...

user-pic

Agathena,

DO you have a link to the Sullivan article?

user-pic

This is the top of the page, which has several articles on her many lies. The titles vary between The Many Lies of Sarah Palin, and the Lies and Lies and Lies...etc"

Bob,

Let's see. The President is supposed to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Obama taught Constitutional law at a top 5-10 law school on the country.

Palin doesn't even know what the Constitution says the "VP" is supposed to do.

Please don't compare her with him. It is insulting. There is no comparison.

user-pic

Thank you Andrew,

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Her crap was really, really bugging me.

During the Gretta interview she got caught up on when the secret service was attatched to her for protection, "also."

Gretta innocently asked when she got them and were they ther for her when she went to Arizona for the interview. Then old Sarah Liar said yup and nodded.

Then Gretta thought about it and said that was wierd that they were there before she was offered the "VP" spot and Sarah Liar guffawed and said oh well you know she didn't have time to ask all of those questions yet.

I guess she "will get back to her" when she used that lifeline.

By far, she is the worst Vice Presidential pick ever, "also."

I know Christy Todd Whittman and Kay Bailey Hutchenson are just shaking their heads, "also."

user-pic

It's "...too, also" As in: I know Christy Todd Whittman and Kay Bailey Hutchenson are just shaking their heads,"too, also."

;)

user-pic

I tought the "too's' came first then the chopped text, then the "also's."

So it would be..

....too, Christy Todd Whittman and Kay Bailey Hutchenson are just shaking their heads, also."

user-pic

Let me just put it this way - read the excerpt of the Wolf Blitzer interview she did that was on the front page of TPM. She speaks the most incredibly bad English. She speaks the kind of English idiots who are trying not to sound like idiots speak.

user-pic

She speaks the kind of English idiots who are trying not to sound like idiots speak.

Moe of the Three Stooges seeking an executive position.

user-pic

Therefore, she is an idiot. No excuse for this one, the woman is not bright. In addition, with the Matt Lauer interview, did Todd need to be standing there holding the baby the whole time? Do they ever put that child down or is he always a prop? It is disgusting how they use their special needs child.

user-pic

Interesting observation Now is the Time. Let's just hope Sarah Palin quickly goes away. Haven't we been tortured enough with her "too" and "also", her winks and her lies?

user-pic

I see no reason to mince words. Sarah Palin is a liar. That sweet little story she told VanSustern in no way resembles the story she told Greta's fellow "Foxer" Sean Hannity:

HANNITY: What was your family’s reaction? Was there time to huddle and have a hockey team meeting?

PALIN: It was a time of asking the girls to vote on it, anyway. And they voted unanimously, yes. Didn’t bother asking my son because, you know, he’s going to be off doing his thing anyway, so he wouldn’t be so impacted by, at least, the campaign period here.

So asked the girls what they thought and they’re like, absolutely. Let’s do this, mom.

user-pic

Sarah Liar, Sarah Liar. Mainstream Liberal Media where for art thou? If you report it, maybe she will go away, also. :)

user-pic

Some mother!
I am weary of this ridiculous woman. Shame on Blitzer and King for continuing to inflict her upon us. Send her back to the ignorant frontier where she will be happier, and so will we.

user-pic

The trouble with lying is you can never remember which lie you told to whom. This woman apparently doesn't even care if people have absolute proof that she's lying.
The old saying "lies like a bed pisser" seems to fit her rather well.

user-pic

What I can't believe is all of the republican point people who STILL insist that she helped the ticket. Energizing the base is great, but being so incompetent as to scare the hell out of the middle is much worse.

If I were not such a patriot, and a "real American," I would welcome her running again. It increases the chance of another victory in for years. But, the off chance of her ever becoming President is not worth it.

She needs to fade away fast.

I would like to give a shout out to anyone on Alaska who can beat her in her re-election bid in two years. Mayb someone who doesn't give shout outs.

user-pic

I love Sarah Palin! She represents all the reasons that Republicans will be in the political wilderness for a generation: divisive politics that use hate, racism and fear to try and gain votes...combined with utter and transparent stupidity! For a dyed-in-the-wool liberal like me, she is a Godsend!

I am fully supportive of her naked and completely undeserved ambition to take the helm of the Republican party and lead it straight into the abyss! Can't you guys see past your own personal revulsion to her horrid politics and lack of depth, sophistication, and GED-level knowledge? Look at the bigger picture: A Palin candidacy in 2012 virtually guarantees a Democratic victory!

Go Sarah Palin Go!!!!!

user-pic

It's good to see liberals add to their vocabularies. For the last 8 years, all they could say was "Bush is bad, we are good". At least now they can add Sarah Palin to their rhetoric.

Their candidates rely on the fact that they do not pay attention. They can't remember that what the candidate said today was not the same as what he said last week.

I think it is interesting that liberals want to portray all their opponents as liars but ignore all the untrue comments stated by their candidates as gospel.

I don't think Sarah Palin is ready to be president, but she is a quick study and she would have had time to learn as vice president. Unfortunately we now have to let Obama learn as president, and he has more to learn!
Fact: Sarah has more executive experience than Obama. Fact she has more experience heading a military as governor (although that experience is meager, it's more than Obama). Fact she has been much more honest than Obama.

I can understand liberals not liking Sarah, but at least be intellectually honest and stop digging for little ridiculous tidbits like worrying about why her kids were not in school or how much her clothes cost.
