$150K for some clothes vs. $3.5 million for a projector. Oh, the hypocrisy!
Look. I'm a little pressed for time, but can someone write a piece on this double standard in "The Maverick's" views on wasteful spending. He's been trying to hammer Obama on the projector and when this Palin wardrobe thing pops up all he can say is, "she needed some clothes." I just can't statnd the hypocrisy. I'll write a piece later if no one takes me up on it. Thanks.

How would you rank $2mm price tag for Obama's victory celebration in your list of wasteful spending? That seems to far exceed Palin's wardrobe.

Is the $2 million just for one person? OK. Then zip it.

After Obama's over the top Dem convention in Denver, it seems like he doesn't need to throw himself another party for $2MM. It doesn't matter if it's for one person or 200 people. It's a PARTY!! And in this tough economic time we shouldn't be blowing $2mm on a party.

$2 million is about what Bush/Cheney and the Freedom Fries Republicans spend every hour in Iraq, and it ain't no party it's a bloodbath.

I helped fund that party, and my only complaint is my job schedule won't permit me to be there.
And it's not, strictly speaking, a party. It's a celebration of 21 months of hard work. It's a celebration of the most extraordinary campaign of modern history. It's a salute to all the volunteers, and donors, and supporters who helped Sen. Obama get to where he is today.
And finally, to put it in perspective, it represents about 9.5 hours of fund-raising during the month of September.

It is our party! Us, the ones who gave multiple times - $25 here, $50 there. His victory get together is going to be outdoors in Grant Park on Chicago's lakefront. This is the same area where they hold the Taste of Chicago Festival. It can hold hundreds of thousands of people, all supporters of Obama and most probably all donors to Obama.
It will be our night! Actually 2mil is a bargain when you consider the security, cleanup organization etc. The city is not paying for this shin dig.
It will be an historic moment in time. It seems Obama would like to share it with as many people as possible. After all, as he has said repeatedly, it is not about him - it is about US.
To compare this to Sarah (Peg Bundy) Palin's shoppin' spree is completely absurd. It is not even apples and oranges. It is bowling balls and oranges.

You're all hypocrites. It's completely wasteful spending to have a victory party when the country is in the middle of a recession.
