Don't forget Jason Everett Miller, Kfreed, and Donal(we hope he makes it) are also going as our reps to the rally!:)

And the rest of us will be faxing that day and walking in letters to reps offices.

Great Post Bwak! Thanks!

I'll be training up some new canvassers tomorrow and then taking one out to show her the ropes. She;s bucking for my precinct committeeman of the year title which is great.

Great post Bwak! You are one special cheekhen.

user-pic

You're all too good to be true. . .I'm in awe of your energy and your goodness. I honestly have never seen anything like what happens here when the need is great and hearts and minds are one.

Wow. Take a bow. You're my heroes now and forever.

(ack!)

I do want to give a special shout out to both Gumbun and Ripper. They have bravely put their personal stories out there, and opened themselves to hostility and somewhat condescending remarks by the resident know-it-alls. (Who, I might add, do not show the same level of bravery, ever.)

On behalf of the regular folk here, I want to make it clear that it isn't OK to berate others, even inadvertently. All the right-wing christian-coalition fax tactics in the world don't make up for hurting the feelings of our finest. Their feelings MATTER.

I am truly sorry that such good people have to put up with such pompous gas bags.

Hang in there.

user-pic

You are one sad person.

No one inadvertently or otherwise was hostile to gumbun.

Perhaps I should have recommended gumbun listen to Carly Simon?

Here are a few observations:

Bwak, how long have you been campaigning for things? Ever change something on a large scale? Maybe it's time to listen to people who have.

Gumbun first was absolutely convinced my blog was about her, then went into victimization mode. Despite repeated attempts by me and others saying it wasn't.

Here's a fact: this is not the fragile emotional state to be able to be effective in Washington.

Of course, at the end of the day, there are some here that would rather play the idea of being involved in politics rather than do things for real - on a large scale - and so a comment like you just made, Bwak, is just fine for them. It allows them the daily soap opera of TPM without having to accomplish anything.

By the way, Bwak, you'd do well to read my advice also because for sure you will learn something. Like it or not, I've been more effective at pushing our society in a better direction than you. You have no idea how to deal with powers that be and your childish reaction at any authority figure sabotages any serious effort you make for progress. Exactly how smart is that?

user-pic

Come, sir. Half-truths do not become you. As I reflected on your post and its comments, I realized its very existence came into being not more than a day after Gumbun's. Of course it was written in response to hers. And also, perhaps, in response to my previous posts.

I found your post informative, but at this point, an apology would serve to smooth ruffled feelings. Take some responsibility for always offering your sage advice even when it is not requested.

user-pic

Ripper

I seriously regret that you would suggest that the post was about Gumbun. I certainly did not see it that way. CT knew people were going to DC to speak to reps. And while Gumbun's post may have inspired CT to write the blog, just as some of our posts inspired his other recent blog on faxing about healthcare. I, in no way, see it as directed at 'anyone' personally.

user-pic
I certainly did not see it that way.

That is beside the point. Gumbun did. Respectfully, I fail to see what minimizing her feelings accomplishes.

Except, perhaps, empowering bad behavior.

user-pic

Wow, Bwak. So by your logic, Obama should apologize to the Cambridge Police because they felt his comments - where were clearly about them - were unfair.

Hell, my comments weren't even directed specifically at gumbun!

Seriously: I know you hate all things clearthinker, but you need to examine things on a case by case basis. That way you won't get trapped in your own "logic". Why, I've even agreed with you on some things in the past. I bet I might in the future as well.

By the way, how exactly was my blog "bad behavior"?

user-pic

Synch,

I do not believe CT's post was written solely in response to Gumbun's nor that it was directed solely at her. I agree that her post was among many that "inspired" CT's. But if I were in her shoes -- new to TPM but by no means new to professional demeanor -- I would be upset with the wide elbows CT often uses in his rhetoric.

user-pic
Like it or not, I've been more effective at pushing our society in a better direction than you.

Earth to CT: society has NOT moved in a better direction. Not even a little. If I were you, I wouldn't exactly brag about being a mover of "things."

Just sayin', if people listen to creeps like you, they may someday find their fat assinine asses on the tines of a pitchfork. Deservedly. You failed society. Utterly. Not much to brag about, is there.

As for your advice, it's pretty common and ineffectual. I have stopped bad changes in "big" ways and it wasn't by being respectful, it was by calling out bullshit, which is why you can't stand the likes of me. I understand. I don't believe you've done much but read right-wing blogs and steal their usable ideas without attribution. Other than that, all you got is hot air and insults.

Oh, and don't let the cafe door hit ya on the way out. (how many grand exits have you made now? 6? 7? 38?) You taking a page out of Palin's playbook? Quitters and losers are winners, eh? Wotevah.

=D

Now pay attention to gumbun, she managed to show more class in one blog then you ever have in any of your tortured gluts of condescending verbiage.

Maybe you can learn something.
