It would seem progressive sites like TPM might do the country a big service if they encouraged their readers to post positive news from their communities about the economy. It would seem that TPM and other progressive blogs can claim much of the credit for the election of President Obama by continually presenting his strong points. Could it not be possible for the same grass roots reaction in the economy resulting in growth in confidence based on local success stories? Iowa has several stories in the last few days of growth in wind energy businesses as well as other upbeat stories. Lets take the bull by the horns and drag the negative, we hope we fail, Rush crowd screaming a kicking to a re-energized economy.

As an example from KCCI.com news.

About 80 laid-off workers are back on the job in Clive.

The Wittern Group's company, Fawn Manufacturing, makes vending machines for companies around the world.

Last fall, the demand for their products started to decrease and their warehouse started filling up.

"We were really out of balance in terms of how much product we had compared to demand," said The Wittern Group CEO John Bruntz.

So at the end of November, Fawn manufacturing in Clive turned off the lights, shut down machines and laid off more than 100 employees.

"There's a significant amount of equipment and the best way to deploy as much as possible or have it completely shut down," said Bruntz.

The Best scenario was to get their jobs back, and that is what happened for more than 80 employees Monday.

"It's very exciting to see people coming back and having the factory resume operations," said Bruntz.

After three months of being shut down, the factory has balanced their supply to demand ratio.

"Right now, our anticipation is that we will be able to sustain this work force," said Bruntz.

I would like to see those of you with the knowledge and time to do an in depth analysis of Sarah Palin's executive experience. It seems that there is little discussion of her actual successes and failures as mayor and governor. For example i saw one post indicating that she went into her mayors position with no city debt and left with a large city debt in spite of receiving millions in earmarks. If this was true I would expect those of you with the talent and time can in fact find documented examples of these inconsistencies between the story and the real then. Thank you to those taking on the challenge; perhaps we can began to shift the discussion from great speech, mothering requirements, etc. to real concrete reasons why she is not qualified for the job she is so eagerly seeking.
