This is truly a very disturbing story... Where are we as a nation going? We have stories like this with an absolutely unbelievable person like Joe Wurzelbacher the non-plumber still in the news media and republican legislative picture; we have Ingram (sp) on the Today Show this morning making outlandish statements about her knowledge of what the American public wants in the economy with light weight high paid Mat Lauer (sp) not requiring her to present any facts to support her opinion; We have not one republican (even moderate Republicans) supporting the the economic package voted on in the house; and we have Dick Cheney making negative statements about the Obama administration.

Obama's challenge to bring the nation together before we completely self distruct is truely daunting!

you are right on the money... Many of us were attracted to Senator Obama because he "took the high road" when others tried the time tested low road. Please lets not set a poor example and then criticize others for behaving as we do!

Please, instead of writing posts assuming Palin / McCain lose go out and work for Senator Obama until the last vote is cast. We can not afford to even allow one second of gloating until the election is in fact won. Then, like all of the pundits and arm chair quarterbacks (myself included) we can talk of why the election ended as it did and what we hope for future elections.

Stopped reading The Howler (even though he is still on my favorites list). because of his obsession with those he perceives are treating "his favorites" wrongly. He often times has a hard time seeing the forest for the trees; although I must admit he has a first rate intellect.

Having said this.... is the original poster feeling Palin / McCain should win the election? If not why bring an issue to the debate that, as one poster suggested, should be dealt with long after the election as a case study on divisions that can or can not heal.
