I think it's important to take a moment and reflect on the responses various politicians offered in honor of Thanksgiving.
1. Sarah Palin (What's the problem? Kill the bird) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFYiRp6Pu-s
2. George Bush (Heh, heh, heh, nice turkey) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2JN2I3dukE
3. Barack Obama (and family - do the right thing) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJvsy6
I'll leave you to your own mental process over what all this might mean to Americans. For myself, I'm just pleased as punch over my voting choice this year.
The Republicans could not find a central message, so they adopted "Change". They sought a cohesive VP to hold the base and draw disenfranchised HRC supporters, so they adopted SARAH!!! Looking to their future they are now considering an AA for the party lead.
Sundheim said of Michael Steele: "He understands where the party needs
to go, he has got a strong set of principles, he is well able to
articulate a message in all the media forms, and can take that message
to the growing areas of the country -- youth and minorities -- and he
does very well with women. He is the future of the party." Full story here....
So they borrowed the Dem message, they thought boobs would win over women, and now they believe that all the country really wanted was an AA president. When will they get it?
My daughter has a small salon in Fort Wayne. With yesterday's announcement of a Saturday visit by Sarah Palin, she was inundated with clients. Fort Wayne isn't necessarily a small town but it has always had a small town feel. They don't get much outside stimulus and a "celebrity" is big news......follows is my daughter's take on "the customer is always right"
OMG
how much Palin stupidity do I have to deal with in one day????
All the women I encountered today had these brain washed psycho I love Palin
looks on their faces "she's such a great lady" "she's so
pretty" "what a smart woman" "I never got a chance to leave
work for tickets" wahhhhh.
Of course they all wanted my opinion so the only answer I could give anyone was
"I'm just glad that you're out there voting and giving your support for the
person that best represents your views and opinions"
I think that was the best shitty response riddled with kindness I could think
of.
Not to mention they were too stupid to get the underlining context of what I
was saying....
I love you Ma for teaching me how to sound positively enlightening while still
saying exactly what needs to be said.
!! GO team!!
So, today Paulson said: "The federal government must implement a program to remove these illiquid assets that are weighing down our financial institutions and threatening our economy," said Paulson. "This troubled asset relief program must be properly designed and sufficiently large to have maximum impact."
Hmmm. Troubled Asset Relief Program. Would that be the TARP they are hope will avoid any further leaks?
I just received a mailing from the RNC 2008 Critical Issues Survey. Seems they are a bit confused. The letter enclosed from Carly Fiorina, Victory 2008 Chair, states that “Because of your high level of political involvement and steadfast commitment to the Republican Party……..”
Whoa there Carly. I’ve been a registered Dem since 1973 (day 1 of my voting privilege).
