Merkley is now leading by 400 with about 30% of Multnomah and Lane County still being counted.  It will be virtually impossible for Smith to recover, given that his strongholds have all been more or less completely counted.

Don't expect Smith and his minions to go gently into the good night, however.  Expect re-counts and law suits and all manner of wailing and gnashing of teeth.
