Is it 10K or is it suicide?

We'll find out in about four hours,.

If anyone's got any good wishes, luck or energy or endurance to send to Denver today, I'd appreciate it. My fat self is running my first 10K.

Okay, running is a stretch. Jogging. Slowly. And walking. But still, in case the inevitable and totally deserved massive coronary occurs, I wanted to say you all have been fun to read. And while i'm on that subject let me say a few things about Obama ...

Bush?

Cheney?

.... (cue crickets)

Okay, enough stalling. Off to face the road and the crowds.

I jogged for fifteen years. About 35,000 miles. It is addictive. Good for the body, mind and soul to say nothing of the heart.

Two marathons. This was all a couple decades ago. I can no longer jog.

Except for the athletes, it is a personal rush. The mind goes into another dimension.

Keep on keepin on.

Good luck Matt.

Good for you, and good luck too!

You're already a winner, Matt. Let us know how the other folks do!

Okay, I didn't die. That was good.

Time was 93:17, which was a lot slower than I had hoped, but given the insanity of the crowd, I don't feel too bad about it. 54,000 people ran today. A neat race -- if you're a runner, you ought to come to Boulder for Memorial Day one year. Insane doesn't describe it. It's nice to finish the race in running into a half-full football stadium to a drunken crowd cheering.

Thanks for the kind words and support. I appreciate it.

Thanks for the update! That is something to be very proud of! You finished! That's great. :)

Matt -- 10K and funny "OK, I didn't die..." Not so long ago it was 5K. You've doubled your distance. Lux would be proud. Congratulations.
