Anyone using Chrome?

I'm just wondering if there have been any issues with adopting a new browser.

I admit, I'm hesitant. It's one thing to switch jobs, or get divorced or move out of the country to a deserted island that offers satellite TV and high speed access. Those are relatively easy decisions. But when it comes to changing the way I look at the Interweb, that takes some real consideration.

I've been burned before. Jumped quickly on IE8 and found myself neutered, alone. Been trying Firefox, but the relationship is strained, it doesn't seem to get along with all of my friends, and honestly, feels a little dull. So when this new thing appeared, my spirits leapt. The promise of something new, of the excitement of learning new tools and tricks got me aflutter.

But now I'm getting cold feet, afraid of another round of disappointment and heartbreak, i thought I'd throw the question to the world before spending the, I don't know, five minutes (and a full reboot, mind you) to risk it all again.

So anyone out there have any experiences with the new thing?

I was wondering about Chrome, too.

Bookmarked.

Chrome? - meh!

It's simple, but dull. Didn't give me any problems and saved my sanity when IE was getting on my last nerve.

I use Firefox now and I love it. Check the website cnet if you want more user reviews.

Firefox for sure. Chrome is simply repackaged Safari. Crapola. What friends don't play well on Firefox? It is by far the best browser I have found and is super extensible via plugins.

I love chrome. I use it for everything, including TPM.

The good: clean and simple; wide and tall screen (I don't lose two inches at the top the browser menus/extensions); great tabs; fast; easy bookmarks; quick; type a query or a web site name in the box (it also presents scarily prescient guesses in the lines below, based on your location/browsing history, or some other formula); the browser works seamlessly with google reader/gmail/blogspot (you know the google empire); finally random fun stuff like "incognito browser window"

The bad: a couple sites don't like it (every once in awhile I have to use the firefox, or for particularly old (and often government) sites, the dreaded IE). I am not aware of a lot of extensions for it like firefox. Occasionally crashes for no apparent reason (this is happening less frequently, but it is still about once every few weeks, however restoring is pretty quick).

Finally, I confess I have philosophical qualms with giving google even more control over the worlds information and people's browsing habits.

Thats about it. On balance I love it (like so much in this modern consumer world i try and ignore my conscious). I can't emphasize how much I enjoy surfing without the clutter that other browsers have, it really enhances the experience.

Another firefox fan here. There are some sites where I have to switch over to IE, but by and large, it is a great browser.

My suggestion? You can run more than one browser. Try it, and if you don't like it, dump it!
