Moving Over the Waters
From Genesis:
The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.
McCain and Palin were strong candidates in some respects but however popular their persons, or however strong their party, they could not prevail. Another sun is to rise over this country. The morning is coming; the illness is over.

Thank you, Lux, for the energy you have expended in guiding your friends through this near perfect storm. I, for one, do not know what I would have done without your weather eye and temperate voice.
What music do you hear?

WW,
For me it is "Long Time Coming" with that beautiful voice of Sam Cooke.
But there is also the "Ode to Joy" in the 9th,
the Rondo Vivace in the 4th piano concerto, both Beethoven.
Parts of the New Hebrides Overture, Parts of the New World Symphony, parts of "The Lark Ascending"; that wonderful section of the Brahms violin concerto where the violin climbs the register burning with a white light!
No matter how this comes out, we will all of us here at TPM share something that soldiers know quite well: a kind of brotherhood/sisterhood of battle; we endured this "war" together: the highs and lows, hopes and fears, the endless days of anxiety; we have come through a great experience together; and all of us will never be the same. We will always share this kinship: that we were here together at this great time, this great struggle, and we perservered and came through it together. It makes for a kinship that will last till the end of our days. Whether we were on the same side or not on these threads, this experience stamps us and binds us together.
If we could only get the country in its red and blue divisions to see it the same way...

It just has been called for Obama. We have won, we have conquered ourselves, our own fears, our own terrors.

So much work to be done to become one nation beginning tomorrow. But tonight, I think I am breathing for the first time in a long time.
I have some calls to make to family, Lux. Shall I see you later at M's?

If you're out there -- we could not have made it through this without you. Thank you. But don't think you're off the hook. We need a solutions man, now more than ever, particularly one with two rows of teeth.
